WHAT a day for Salford City – a local derby against the Premier League champions. But Karl Robinson’s men arrive at the Etihad in prime form – having won their last six matches to put themselves firmly in the promotion race.
Pep Guardiola has rested some of his star players – to get those who have made the short journey across town dreaming of an upset. Salford shareholder Gary Neville – who has had plenty to say about City’s recent slump – misses the game as he is away skiing.
One interesting angle to Guardiola’s team – skipper Kyle Walker is left out for ‘tactical reasons’. His form has been a real worry this season.
FT: Sunderland 1-2 Stoke City
Despite having the more shots across the game, The Potters come away with the win.
They put their name in the fourth round draw thanks to Ennis' goal in the 112th minute.
This one will hurt Sunderland as they had plenty of chances to win this match.

CHELSEA woke up eventually and bruised into the fourth round of The Cup.
But when the fourth best team in England beats the second worst in the entire Football League it is a game they can't really win.
This was expected and will prove a good workout for players coming back from injury at least.
FT: Brentford 0-1 Plymouth
We have our first shock result of the day in West London.
Thomas Frank made the mistake of resting a lot of his first-team players and they had nothing to trouble the visitors.
Then as The Bees back off, Whittaker scored to book Plymouth a place in the fourth round draw.

Injury-hit Bournemouth swept aside West Brom at the Vitality Stadium.
The Cherries lost two star forwards Evanilson and Enes Unal to long term injuries last week.
But two-goal Dango Ouattara, Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and Daniel Jebbison all netted as the Cherries charged their way into round four.
Giant defender Caleb Taylor had given Championship side West Brom hope with a 14th minute opener but the Cherries had indeed too much firepower!
FT: Norwich City 0-4 Brighton
Superb win for Fabian Hurzeler's side at Carrow Road.
Their Premier League quality showed today and was the difference between the two sides.

Ryan Yates headed them in front late in the first half and Ramon Sosa gave them breathing space with just over 20 minutes to go.
Job done for Nuno, who made 11 changes ahead of Tuesday’s huge Premier League clash with Liverpool at the City Ground.

Morgan Whittaker fires the Championship's bootom club into the lead eight minutes from time and it is not undserved for Plymouth.
Whittaker, who has been a constant threat all game, picked the ball up on the edge of the Brentford box and was allowed to work his way past two Bees defenders and buried the ball into the bottom corner.

This is all very easy for Brighton, who lead 4-0, and the fans have been shouting Olé when their team have had possession.
If you get the chance, catch Solly March’s peach of a goal on 74 minutes.
It was so good that Brighton stand-in goalkeeper Jason Steele ran down the pitch to celebrate.
Red card - Tyler Goodrham (Oxford United)
Brentford 0-1 Plymouth
82. Brentford are the architects of their own downfall.
They back off Whittaker and let him run towards goal.
He drills a shot into the bottom corner to give the visitors the lead.
