Masters snooker 2025 LIVE RESULTS: Allen vs Selby ON NOW after Murphy MISSES 147 chance in win over Robertson – latest

MARK SELBY and Mark Allen are in action NOW in the quarters-finals of the Masters at the iconic Ally Pally

Earlier, Shaun Murphy was inspired as he put Neil Robertson to the sword to reach the semi-finals in London.

The Magician beat the late call up 6-2 and almost hit a maximum in the final frame - reaching 120 before the snooker star admitted that nerves got the better of him.

This year we will be guaranteed a new champion after reigning champ Ronnie O'Sullivan withdrew from the tournament on medical grounds. World No1 Judd Trump is on course to win a Triple Crown Grand Slam after he won the UK Championship in December.

  • Shaun Murphy* 0-75 Gary Wilson (Frames: 4-1)

Wilson takes on a long pot after Murphy's break and sends it straight down the middle of the pocket.

That ton in the last frame seems to have got him back in the zone.

Despite the fact he is trailing still, on current form, you would not bet against him staging the comeback for victory.

  • Shaun Murphy 0-101 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 4-0)

The first century break of this match this evening.

Impressive stuff from Wilson and the perfect response to the first session before the interval.

If he didn't know before, Murphy knows this match is far from over.

  • Shaun Murphy 0-58 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 4-0)

It will be interesting to see if Wilson has regathered his thoughts.

Not the best of breaks from him but there is nothing that Murphy can take without risk.

However, Wilson is able to take advantage of an unfortunate kiss and start compiling another frame-winning break.

Even though, as he is taking a shot, someone's mobile phone goes off with some ancient ringtone.

The referee asks for everyone to ensure that their mobile phones are switched off as a result.

She could have added.....and the 1990s are on the phone asking for their ringtone back.

  • Murphy punishes opponent errors

It has not been plain sailing for either player, they have played shots they were not happy with.

The difference however has been Shaun Murphy capitalising on the pivotal moments of the frame.

Gary Wilson will be heading into the interval feeling a little punchdrunk, wondering how he is four-nil down.

For Murphy, it is all going for better than he could ever have planned for.

  • Shaun Murphy leads Gary Wilson 4-0

  • Shaun Murphy* 68-28 Gary Wilson (Frames: 3-0)

It looks like Wilson will be heading into the interval facing a potential whitewash in this match.

What will make it feel even worse is that he could have won every one of the frames.

Wilson concedes the frame and things are not going according to plan for the Scottish Open champion.

  • Shaun Murphy* 0-28 Gary Wilson (Frames: 3-0)

Wilson is starting to show his biggest problem in this match.

He seems capable of getting the start to a decent break but then it all comes to an end.

The pair will exchange safety shots now until one makes a mistake and something becomes pottable.

  • Shaun Murphy 71-45 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 2-0)

Gary Wilson should be leading by two frames to one now.

Instead, he is facing the harsh reality of being three-nil down.

Murphy has been ruthless when it comes to capitalising on his opponent's missed pots.

  • Shaun Murphy 15-45 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 2-0)

This frame is giving us all the emotions.

Murphy seemed to play a good pot on a tricky red but the cue ball ran up behind a loose yellow to prevent him being able to take the intended blue.

The pair then exchange a number of safety shots before a chance opens up for Murphy again.

Rather than taking on a risky red he plays safe, leaving the cue ball up the top of the table.

  • Shaun Murphy 0-45 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 2-0)

Wow, both these players are having disjointed starts.

Murphy misses an easy pot which Wilson seizes upon and starts to amass a break himself.

With only a few reds available, he once again misses a pot using the rest.

    Big chance for Murphy here.

  • Shaun Murphy* 69-62 Gary Wilson (Frames: 1-0)

Murphy does brilliantly to clear up in this frame.

All down to that horrendous missed red using the rest from Wilson.

Losing this frame will hurt Wilson and he needs to try and get his head straight sooner rather than later.

  • Shaun Murphy* 11-62 Gary Wilson (Frames: 1-0)

A terrible missed pot from Wilson.

It really has given Murphy a chance to take a frame that he looked to be out of.

This could prove a pivotal moment in this match if Murphy can take what seems to be a tricky opening with the way the balls are spread.

  • Shaun Murphy* 0-55 Gary Wilson (Frames: 1-0)

A loose safety from Murphy leaves an easy pot.

Wilson takes his chance and starts to put a break together.

He is in the perfect opportunity to reply by sealing the second from of this evening session, still at the table.

  • Shaun Murphy* 0-0 Gary Wilson (Frames: 1-0)

Murphy gets the second frame underway.

In this format, it is first to six in the first round matches.

Wilson leaves the cue ball tight to the baulk cushion to leave his opponent a testing safety.

  • Shaun Murphy 83-6 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 0-0)

Both players are missing pots they wouldn't usually here.

Murphy takes advantage and shows some good cueing but misses a red into the middle bag to secure the frame.

Fortunately, Wilson's safety play is very poor in this opening frame and Murphy sinks a long red to ensure he is going to win the opener.

  • Shaun Murphy 17-0 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 0-0)

Interesting start here, Murphy potted the available reds before trying to break the pack up after a yellow.

He was really unlucky and nothing was on for him.

Murphy played a good safety, meaning that Wilson needed to ensure that he did not leave a ball on at all, instead he leaves two.

After adding another six points, a careless shot from Murphy sees him rattle a simple red.

  • Shaun Murphy 0-0 Gary Wilson* (Frames: 0-0)

Both players will realise what a chance they have to look at winning this trophy, especially with Ronnie O'Sullivan having pulled out.

There is now no defending champion to have to conquer.

Wilson gets the match underway with the break in the first frame.

  • Ally Pally ready for evening session

It is another packed house for tonight's match.

Shaun Murphy (8) vs Gary Wilson (11)

These two players should offer another session of must-watch action.

  • We go again

This match should actually fly by.

It's Shaun Murphy and Gary Wilson - head-to-head.

They've played each other six times over the years.

Murphy has won four, while Wilson has two victories to his name.

  • Robertson comeback

It really is an astonishing tale from Robertson.

And you wouldn't put it past him to win The Masters, would you?

Just a few days ago, he wasn't even in the competition.

    Now, he's in the quarter-finals.

  • Up next

The action's not all over, all.

Next up it's Shaun Murphy and Gary Wilson in action.

    Should be another cracker.

  • Robertson reaction

I don't think John did a lot wrong - I played at my absolute best.
"I'm glad I could take my chance with Ronnie dropping out and give the crowd something to cheer today.
"I dont think many people have seen what I can do.
"That match shows how well I can play."

  • Final score - Higgins 5-6 Robertson

    It went to a decider.

Higgins was on a break of 35, before a red hit the jaws of the pocket and bounced out.

Robertson took over and opened the pack up with a brilliant red.

But, on 57, he fails to get a red off the side cushion and it's the end of his break.

However, Higgins leaves Robertson a chance - and he sinks it.

It gives Robbo the chance to nick the frame and seal a dramatic comeback!

  • Latest score - Higgins 5-5 Robertson

What an astonishing fightback by Robertson.

He's now level after a brilliant break of 80.

Incredibly, Higgins has not scored a point in three of the last four frames.

  • Latest score - Higgins 5-4 Robertson

    Superb from Robertson.

A tasty break of 118, and he's well in with a shout now.

Higgins is struggling now to get his game on.
