Masters snooker 2025 LIVE RESULTS: Shaun Murphy BEATS Kyren Wilson in dramatic final to land huge £350k payday – updates

SHAUN MURPHY took home the biggest prize of his career to win the Masters on Sunday night at Ally Pally.

Murphy overcame world champ Kyren Wilson to become Masters champion for the second time in his career.

The Magician raced into a 6-2 lead in the afternoon session, but The Warrior fought back in the evening to make the showpiece match 8-7 after 15 frames.

But Murphy held firm despite Wilson’s heart to secure a 10-7 win and the biggest payday of his illustrious career (£350,000).

Earlier in the tournament, The Magician hit a stunning 147 during his semi-final triumph over Mark Allen.

  • Judd Trump 3-4 Kyren Wilson (0-21)

As I said, it's an important frame and neither of these guys are taking any risks. Just ticked over 20 minutes in this frame... no end in sight.

  • Judd Trump 3-4 Kyren Wilson (0-0)

Judd Trump, with a long pot success rate of 60% tonight, manages to resist the urge to take on a high-risk red. He knows if he loses this frame then Kyren will need just one to reach tomorrow's final.

Instead, we have ourselves a rather scrappy and cautious start to the eighth frame without a ball potted for over five minutes.

  • Judd Trump 3-4 Kyren Wilson

Judd does return to the table to pot a red, but the black doesn't drop for him and leaves everything available for the world champion. A free dinner.

Kyren Wilson doesn't turn down the offer and speedily makes a clinical break of 88 to establish a 4-3 advantage in this Masters semi-final. Still awaiting our first century break of the night, but that was the closest we've come.

  • Judd Trump 3-3 Kyren Wilson (0-23)

How's your luck? Not very good. Kyren Wilson gets himself out ahead in this seventh frame and plays a great shot into the pack but leaves himself on absolutely nothing.

  • Judd Trump 3-3 Kyren Wilson

It did get tricky with the black rolling against the bottom cushion and the pink out of commission - but Wilson found a way with a wonderful break of 76.

That was a masterclass in patience and positioning from the 33-year-old, who'll just be relieved to get all-square and not to of had a repeat of the previous frame. We all are.

  • Judd Trump 3-2 Kyren Wilson (0-6)

Another long bout of safety, Kyren Wilson takes on the pot and gets it. He sinks a red, followed by the blue to start with. The only issue is that the black is covered by a red and that could get even worse when he eventually gets into the pack.

  • Judd Trump 3-2 Kyren Wilson (0-0)

Let's have a big break shall we, lads?

  • Judd Trump 3-2 Kyren Wilson

Well I've never seen a score like that before. Judd Trump finally makes it out with the frame after a quality pot on the blue. It finished 95-70…

"It got silly in the end. The only good thing about that frame is winning it -- it certainly won't make any highlight reels," says Stephen Hendry.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson (84-70)

Yes, that really is the current score. Over 150 points have been scored in this long-lasting frame and there's still no winner.

Kyren Wilson gives away another 10 points (43 in total) after missing the blue from a cracking Judd Trump snooker. It looks done and dusted before Wilson conjures up a snooker of his own which Trump promptly misses.

There's 18 points still left on the table.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson (70-60)

Judd Trump plays a fantastic snooker to keep his opponent away from the yellow.

We then enter Groundhog Day territory with Kyren Wilson missing not once, twice or three times… he misses the yellow six times to give Trump a slender advantage.

A big cheer from the crowd when he eventually connects is quickly muted when Wilson misses the yellow twice a few shots later. That's a total of 33 points he's given away in penalties. Judd is in the driving seat as this safety battle continues.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson (41-60)

Judd Trump misses an awkward red along the side cushion which allows the reigning world champion back to the table.

Kyren Wilson powers his way to a 60-41 lead with 27 remaining on the table (19 ahead). He missed a very tough yellow with the rest to open the door for Judd. A very tense safety battle coming up here at Alexandra Palace.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson (30-0)

Judd Trump grabs the frame by the scruff of the neck and sets sail with a cracking long pot to the bottom left. The black is still tied but once the nearby reds have been removed he should take the lead for the first time tonight.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson (2-0)

"I don't know what they've had at the interval…" says Ken Doherty.

    Me neither, Ken.

The pair miss another chance each before Judd Trump sinks a red only to get stuck into the pack when trying to return back up the table. A safety exchange begins.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson (0-0)

An aggressive pot from Kyren Wilson goes astray and breaks the reds apart. One thing does go in his favour, however, and that's the pink and black being tied up.

Judd returns to the table - misses. Wilson returns to the table - misses. A very nervy start after the mid-session interval from both players.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson

And we're back. Judd Trump to break with the scores level at 2-2. Remember, it's best of 11.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson

We were treated to a replay of Shaun Murphy's magnificent 147 during the interval. Astonishing just how easy he made it look, and was also nice to see Mark Allen willing him on.

Stephen Hendry called it when Murphy was on 16.

  • Judd Trump 2-2 Kyren Wilson

Kyren Wilson will be extremely disappointed there. He puts 27 on the board but opts for power when over cutting a red to the left corner. Trump returns to the table and gets it over the line.

It's all-square as we reach the mid-session interval, Trump will be the happier of the pair.

  • Judd Trump 1-2 Kyren Wilson (52-1)

It's all a bit cat and mouse at the moment with Trump trying to stick the reds to the side cushions as insurance and Wilson trying to retrieve them.

Trump eventually goes for a long pot but misses and allows Wilson back to the table. Plenty to do if he's to steal this fourth frame, however.

  • Judd Trump 1-2 Kyren Wilson (52-0)

I blamed Ken Doherty for the last jinx, I blame myself for this one.

Judd Trump runs out of position, leaving himself with a very difficult plant to the middle pocket. It doesn't go and we've got ourselves a safety exchange with Trump 52-0 to the good.

  • Judd Trump 1-2 Kyren Wilson (45-0)

We're not quite in "naughty snooker" territory but Judd Trump has the frame at his mercy after a stunning blue. He thundered that into the top corner to rapturous applause.

The kind of shot that us mortals would try in the snooker club with the ball ending up in someone's pint down the corridor…

  • Judd Trump 1-2 Kyren Wilson (18-0)

Oh my… a huge fluke goes in favour of Judd Trump! He goes for a long pot to the bottom left corner but the red cannons off the jaw and drops into the opposite corner.

Again, it's a nice start for the world number one to level things up before the first interval.

  • Judd Trump 1-2 Kyren Wilson

Very measured stuff from the world number one Judd Trump, and even more impressive given his lack of time on the table tonight. Trump makes the most of Wilson's positional error with a break of 85 to reduce the deficit.

    He takes the third frame.

  • Judd Trump 0-2 Kyren Wilson (0-44)

I'll blame Ken Doherty for that one. Wilson gets too straight on a black and doesn't leave himself with anything. He goes for a safety but leaves a very pottable red over the bottom right corner.

    Trump returns to the table…

  • Judd Trump 0-2 Kyren Wilson (0-44)

Kyren Wilson is cueing so well. Another long pot gives him the early advantage in this frame, and a well-judged red to release the black only enhances his chances of racing into a 3-0 lead. Big opportunity this.

"He's got the reds exactly where he wants them now. This is an incredible chance for the world champion," says Ken Doherty.

  • Judd Trump 0-2 Kyren Wilson (0-0)

Well let's remember, Judd Trump went 3-1 down against Ding in his quarter-final last time out and came back to win five frames on the bounce.
