In the end it is good, very difficult game. They did a very good job of creating space between the lines. When they lose their physicality, towards the end of the game, we find the way to win. Today was not a lack of enthusiasm, it was sometimes a lack of speed and lack of control of the game.

But oh, dear. United were in the main awful and Southampton have departed heartbroken after the winger’s late treble.

They certainly love drama at the Theatre of Dreams and Amad was the stunning hat-trick star, but Ruben Amorim will know he really did dodge a bullet tonight.
