Manager Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of Rashford.

And the club think signing him could appease fans who are angry about Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s reportedly impending move to PSG.

Napoli also think Rashford could provide the firepower to help secure a title for Napoli - who are four points clear the top of Serie A - this season.

A move to Naples would appeal to Rashford, who has told his advisors he is up for a switch to Italy.

AC Milan had been expected to sign the player, but reports in Italy claim the deal is close to collapse due to concerns over the player’s fitness.

Interest remains from Saudi Arabia, but Rashford, who wants to get his place in the England squad back, isn’t believed to be keen on the idea of a move there.

Conte spoke recently about the departure of Kvaratskhelia - which has dismayed many Napoli fans.

He said: “He asked the club to be sold, without mincing his words.
