Luke Littler, 17, shows off new look with nod to historic World Championship triumph in first match since Ally Pally

LUKE LITTLER showed off a brand new look at his first appearance since his World Championship victory.

The Warrington darts sensation, 17, was in action for the first time since his Ally Pally heroics at the Bahrain Masters.

And fans couldn't help but notice a tiny nod to his World Championship victory - where he thumped Michael van Gerwen in the final earlier this month - on his outfit.

Littler stepped up to the oche with an additional badge on his iconic purple top.

The teenager now has a Sky Sports logo above his Xbox and BoohooMan crests on the left side of his chest.

Fans were quick to spot the latest addition to The Nuke's kit - but were left curious as to why rival Luke Humphries also had the Sky Sports logo on his top.

Only the reigning world champion is believed to be able to wear the crest on their shirt.

However, as Humphries is still world No1, with Littler No2 after his Ally Pally triumph, they are both permitted to wear it.

Fans even pointed out Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld would both often have the patch adorned on their top during their phenomenal rivalry.

Humphries has worn the logo since winning the World Championship a year earlier - where he beat Littler in the final in the teenager's breakout tournament.

Littler could barely contain his smile during his new introduction at the Bahrain Darts Masters on Thursday night.

Darts announcer John McDonald has a new intro for Littler after his success at Alexandra Palace.

The Nuke tried to play it cool as he walked to the oche after being called "the world champion".

But he could not hide his emotions as he let out a smile before the song "Greenlight" blasted out on the speakers.

Littler would go on to beat Lourence Ilagan 6-3 but admitted he felt "rusty" as he tried out his news darts, having admitted he would never use his World Championship-winning arrows again.

He said: “I’m happy to get past that first game... there weren’t any nerves. A bit of rust. A fresh set of darts.

"The ones I won the World Championship with are getting put away in a frame.

“It’s very hard to break in a new set of darts. I played alright in patches.

“There were some bad patches there. I did the right things at the right time and punished him. It would mean the world to retain this trophy.”

It's been a busy week for Littler who was surprised by a giant cow with a birthday cake before enjoying an off-road experience in Bahrain.
