ERLING HAALAND admits his astonishing £260million, TEN-YEAR Manchester City contract is “crazy”.

The Norwegian superstar, 24, will bank at least £500,000 a week BEFORE bonuses, with the biggest deal in Premier League history keeping him at the Etihad until 2034.

Haaland has even scrapped the release clauses that were in his previous contract — which was due to run until 2027 — meaning long-term suitors Real Madrid and Barcelona will not get the striker on the cheap.

And City boss Pep Guardiola says he was blown away when director of football Txiki Begiristain told him the extraordinary length of the mega-deal.

Haaland said: “It’s a bit crazy but I like a bit of crazy, so it’s fine for me.

“It’s a big moment and I’m super happy — it was an easy decision.”

SunSport revealed on November 21 that Haaland’s future was City’s top priority after tying down Guardiola to a new two-year extension.

Haaland moved from Borussia Dortmund for £51.4million in 2022 and has scored a staggering 111 goals in 126 games.

His deal eclipses the nine-year contracts signed by Chelsea trio Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson.

Haaland added: “Now I can fully focus on getting better because I am here for such a long time.

Erling Haaland talks about his contract extension at Man City to 2034

“I want to thank Pep, his staff, my team-mates and everyone at the club as they have all helped me.”

Haaland, who became a dad for the first time last month, has won the Prem’s Golden Boot in each of the last two seasons.

In 2022-23 he scored 52 times in all competitions to help City to an historic Treble and then got another 38 last term.

Haaland has 21 goals to his name this season and hopes to add to that tally at Ipswich tomorrow.

Pep admitted he was gobsmacked after hearing the length of the deal.

He said: “I said to Txiki, ‘Can you repeat?’ and he said, ‘Ten’. I said, ‘Are you sure?’ and he said, ‘Yes’.

“It’s exceptional news for all of us. He’s making me a better manager.

“He visualises there is no better place he could be in the next ten years.
