Man Utd are happy to cash in on the 20-year-old winger as he is a homegrown player.

All the cash from the sale will count as pure profit amid concerns over breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Man Utd have supposedly already begun work on signing Garnacho's replacement, with the club in talks with Lecce for Patrick Dorgu.

The 20-year-old Danish international is thought to be highly-rated by Ruben Amorim.

Dorgu has starred in a range of positions for Lecce this season and is capable of playing on either flank as a winger or a wing-back.

Garnacho, who was also a target for Chelsea this month, has not started regularly since being dropped from the squad for last month's Manchester derby.

Reasons to be positive under Ruben Amorim

He is out of favour under Amorim, who claimed he is not a natural fit to his system and needs to learn a new way of playing.

The boss said last week: "That is clear - he has talent. He needs to learn to play in a different position. He needs to play better inside.

“He’s improved a lot in the recovering position when he doesn't have the ball.

"But doing that, sometimes he is not in the right place to make transitions like he was in the past.

“I prefer to defend and then build up with all the team to reach the final third. He's finding the best way to play in this system."
