Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Hojlund set for loan after TWO seasons in England, United eye Cunha alongside Delap deal

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready for a HUGE summer transfer window - with Ruben Amorim expected to overhaul the squad with plenty of players arriving AND leaving.

Rasmus Hojlund has struggled for goals since his arrival in the Premier League, and already looks set to depart the club on loan this summer, with Juventus interested.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils continue to monitor Liam Delap, and his reported £30million relegation release clause, and are interested in bringing in Wolves Matheus Cunha alongside him.

The Red Devils have been put on alert with Everton expecting to lose Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

  • Sesko race

Benjamin Sesko could join Man Utd rather than Arsenal, according to one transfer insider.

The RB Leipzig forward has been attracting attention from Prem clubs ahead of the summer.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims Arsenal have put “significant work?into Sesko.

But he adds that the Gunners have “reservations?about a possible deal and the forward could yet end up at either United or Chelsea.

  • Keeping him in

When asked if he could drop Onana, Amorim defiantly replied: "No we continue to do the same thing.

"Training, seeing the games, trying to choose the best eleven to win every match.

"When one player has a mistake, all the team has a mistake so we continue like that.?/p>

  • Am here for you

Ruben Amorim has leapt to the defence of Andre Onana - insisting he WON'T drop the under-fire keeper.

Amorim insists he still has faith in the calamitous Cameroonian, saying: "If you look at the season, I've made more mistakes than them during these last games and during these last months.

"There's nothing I can say to Andre in this moment that will help him.

"So the most important thing is to be natural and then when the time comes I will choose the best XI to play.

"But I'm really confident in Andre."

  • Mat leave

Man Utd risked the wrath of keeper Andre Onana by giving Nemanja Matic a slew of gifts after their Europa League clash with Lyon.

Under-fire stopper Onana was embroiled in a pre-match spat with the Lyon ace ahead of the first leg of their quarter-final tie in France on Thursday, which they drew 2-2.

And the 29-year-old could very well be irked by his team-mates gifting the former United midfielder several shirts after the final whistle.

Early this morning, Matic revealed that he'd been gifted shifts from Amad Diallo, Harry Maguire, Tom Heaton and Luke Shaw.

The Serbian, however, didn't keep them for his personal collection, instead gifting them to his son Filip.

United's coaching staff also showed their love for Matic as they posed for pictures with the two-time Premier League winner.

  • Savage blast

Robbie Savage said on Onana: "It’s a goalkeeper error. It’s a good ball into a great area.

“Is Onana anticipating a touch? Everybody looks onside, it’s a terrible goalkeeping error.

“It bounces just in front of him, he’s got to save that, it’s a poor goalkeeping error.

“He has dived late because he is waiting for someone to get a touch. We can watch it as many times as we like - it’s an error.?/p>

  • On his case

Scholes said of Onana: “I think Onana was more so at fault for the first, a huge mistake, a little harder but he has to do better than that.

“On the whole it’s the right result, Lyon played the better football and created more opportunities.

“But after scoring so late, United will be disappointed and they are in a good position at home, so they should still be big favourites but they will have to improve.?/p>

  • Just keep quiet

Paul Scholes launched a furious blast at Andre Onana in the wake of the Manchester United star’s spat with Nemanja Matic.

Speaking at half-time after the keeper had produced a blunder for Lyon’s first goal, Scholes said: “He (Onana) has probably wished he had kept his mouth shut before the game.

“It’s a really bad mistake. It’s a decent ball but I’m not sure what the keeper is trying to do. It’s an awful mistake from him.?/p>

  • Mainoo man

SunSport's latest Man Utd Files have dropped - and there's a huge update on Kobbie Mainoo's contract situation.

The club have also lined up a replacement for Alejandro Garnacho ahead of a huge summer rebuild.

  • Fan fury

Man Utd fans were reportedly "pepper-sprayed" for trying to use the toilet after their Europa League clash with Lyon.

Shocking footage circulating on social media shows fans in the away end coughing and struggling to breath clearly.

Travelling Red Devils fans witnessed their team draw the first leg of their quarter-final clash with the Ligue 1 side 2-2.

French police kept them in Parc Olympique Lyonnais for an hour after the game to prevent potential clashes with home fans - a tactic not uncommon at high profile European games.

But according to reports from travelling Old Trafford faithful, police hit them with pepper spray when they tried to briefly leave their seats to go to the loo.

United fan James Young shared a photo on X of two fans covering their mouths after allegedly being pepper-sprayed.

  • Roo can do it

Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney made sure to stop by and support a fellow wonderkid during the Premier League Darts in Manchester.

The England and Everton bagsman was in the crowd to watch Luke Littler, 18, try and make history with a record fifth nightly win.

Stockport star Nathan Aspinall said: “I believe Wayne is going to be here.

“One of the drivers told me he was coming down. I don’t think he is coming to watch me.

“That is the thing with darts at the moment, it’s attracting so many big names to come and watch us play. I think they appreciate the talent and the pressure that we are under night after night.?figure class="article__media">

  • More from critical Scholes

He added: "I don't think they have control in the middle of the pitch. I don't think the forward's quality is quite there.

"Look, he knows. He's not stupid, he's not going to say it, but he doesn't like this football team."

  • Paul Scholds

Paul Scholes claimed that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim "doesn't like" his squad.

He said after the 2-2 draw with Lyon: "I don't think he believes that to be honest with you.

"I don't think he likes this team. I think he knows he hasn't got a great football team and I think he wants better - he needs better.

"I think you could see that with the way he is on the touchline, he always looks disappointed to me.

"The way he was speaking there tells me he's disappointed with what he's got.

"He needs better, everyone knows he needs better if he's going to challenge and be where Manchester United want to be. I think it's all over the pitch".

  • Man Utd ratings vs Lyon

Andre Onana was culpable for both Lyon goals in a 2-2 draw.

But one player really caught our eye as United kept their Europa League adventure well and truly alive.

  • Oh no-na

It was a night to forget in Lyon for Andre Onana.

The Manchester United keeper had taunted the French side prior to the game by suggesting the Red Devils were stronger "on paper".

But two errors from the stopper means Lyon will go to Old Trafford all level next week.

  • FULL TIME - LYON 2 MAN UTD 2

It looked set to be a huge comeback win for Ruben Amorim's side in France.

The Red Devils trailed after a first-half error from Andre Onana, but showed spirit to fight back.

Leny Yoro netted the equaliser right before half time, with Joshua Zirkzee grabbing what appeared to be a crucial winner in the 87th minute.

But deep into stoppage time, Rayan Cherki levelled the tie ahead of a huge second-leg at Old Trafford.

  • Lyon latest

It's not been a great start for United in France.

Thiago Almada has opened the scoring for the hosts following a clanger from keeper Andre Onana...

  • Fan chaos

Manchester United fans have faced chaos trying to reach the ground in Lyon tonight.

Supporters were forced to collect a wristband from a location around 10km away from the stadium, along with allocated buses.

But roads have ground to a half amid long queues for the band - with many fearing they won't reach the game in time.

  • The XI is in

Manchester United are in action tonight against Lyon in the Europa League.

Rasmus Hojlund gets the nod upfront, with Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes tasked with creating chances.

Man Utd XI: Onana, Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro, Dalot, Casemiro, Ugarte, Dorgu, Fernandes, Garnacho, Hojlund.

  • Amorim's Desire

Manchester United are reportedly huge admirers of PSG's Desire Doue.

But they would have to shell out an eye-watering sum to land the 19-year-old from France.

Fichajes state that PSG boss Luis Enrique views the French international as a "cornerstone" of his project.

The teenager has racked up 12 goals and 12 assists in 43 games this season.

And the Ligue 1 champions have valued Doue at £258million.

  • Dane in the dumps

Rasmus Hojlund's Man Utd career could soon be over as the Red Devils consider shipping him out.

That's according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who says Serie A clubs are keeping a close eye on the Danish striker.

Hojlund has been heavily linked with Napoli and a deal that could see Man Utd sign Galatasaray loanee Victor Osimhen in return.

The forward is already proven in Italy, having enjoyed a stellar season at Atalanta before moving to Old Trafford.

  • Amorim - Mainoo can improve

Ruben Amorim has admitted Kobbie Mainoo is a work in progress - as speculation over the teenager's future at Old Trafford continues to swirl.

The 19-year-old has yet to pen a new deal ahead of a potential squad rebuild over the summer.

Amorim said: "When I see Kobbie Mainoo, I see a lot of talent.

"But in the way I see it - I could be wrong, that's for sure - I see some things that Kobbie Mainoo has to improve.

"When I see Kobbie Mainoo, I see not as a full player in the moment because he's 19 and if I say to Kobbie, 'No, you are done, you are the final player', I think I am not helping Kobbie. That's all."

  • Can't go on

Red Devils legend Eric Cantona claims Manchester United have lost their soul.

The French forward was back in Manchester at the weekend and took in the disappointing goalless derby draw against City.

Cantona, 58, said: "I support United because I really love United, but now if I was a fan and I had to choose a club I don’t think I would choose United.

"For me, that is very important to respect these people like you respect your manager and your team-mates.

"I think since Ratcliffe arrived it’s the complete opposite and this team of directors they try to destroy everything and they don’t respect anybody.

"They even want to change the stadium.

"The soul of the team and the club is not in the players. All the people around is like a big family."
