Wayne Rooney 'return'?
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is in line for a shock return to management just four months after being sacked by Plymouth Argyle.
Blackburn are reportedly considering Rooney as pressure mounts on current boss Valerien Ismael.
Ismael took over at Ewood Park after John Eustace surprisingly left the club to join Derby in February, but the Rovers have won just one of the Frenchman's eight games in charge and they have slipped out the race for the play-offs.
According to , the 49-year-old tactician is under mounting pressure despite him signing a three-year contract just months ago.
Blackburn are already weighing up his replacement and Rooney is supposedly on the list of possible candidates for the job.
Ruben Amorim's summer clearout
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has put Andre Onana and several other players "on trial" ahead of a busy summer of transfer activity.
Amorim dropped Onana for Sunday's Premier League loss at Newcastle and will make a decision on his future.
That's according to who have reported that Man Utd have prioritised signing a new goalkeeper in the summer.
And whether that new arrival will be first choice or not depends on the Cameroon international's performances between now and the end of the season.
Altay Bayindir, who conceded four goals as the 9-year-old's replacement on Sunday, is expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season in search of regular first-team football.
It's claimed that Onana is just one of many players who could fall victim to a summer overhaul at the Theatre of Dreams, with very few senior players said to be safe.
Man Utd's striker search
Manchester United ace Rasmus Hojlund has struggled since his £72million arrival at Old Trafford two years ago.
As such, Man Utd are looking elsewhere for an option up top for next season.
One option on the Red Devils' radar is Bayer Leverkusen star Patrik Schick.
Schick has stood out for Leverkusen with 23 goals and one assist in 40 appearances this season.
'I'd love to see it'
Rooney added that he would "love to see" Rashford playing at United once again.
He added: "Marcus Rashford wants to play for Manchester United, 100 per cent.
"He's a Manchester lad, a Manchester United fan.
"He needed to play and it was clear he wasn't going to play for the rest of the season.
"Sometimes, you have to put the manager in a position where he cannot leave you out.
"Marcus Rashford, in an ideal world, would want to play and leave a legacy at Manchester United.
"Whether that's possible, I don't know, but that's what I'd love to see."
Rashford praise
Wayne Rooney was full of praise for Man Utd star Marcus Rashford - who put in a scintillating performance for Aston Villa in the Champions League.
The loanee provided a stunning assist and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself.
"I hope Rashford goes back to Manchester United and performs like he did tonight," Rooney said during punditry duties for Amazon Prime.
"That’s what we all want to see as Manchester United fans."

Manager Aston Villa Unai Emery was asked about the future of Rashford after the defeat to PSG.
The former Arsenal boss praised his efforts against PSG but admitted it was "difficult" to plan.
He said: "It is difficult to plan it now.
"He is feeling better, and he played a fantastic match. We are very happy.
"If he is happy, we are happy. It depends on the circumstances for now and the next weeks."
Rashford disappointment
Man Utd loanee star Marcus Rashford suffered disappointment last night but can be proud of his own performance.
The forward put in a top performance but could not do enough to help his side as they were dumped out of the Champions League by PSG.
He did pull off a beautiful assist for Ezri Konsa's goal that gave Villa the win on the night, but it was not enough to overturn the aggregate score.
Onana exit rumours
Andre Onana has been linked with an exit from Manchester United following his poor form between the sticks.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the goalkeeper has interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
However, it is stated that a final decision on the Cameroonian is yet to be made by the Old Trafford club.
Credit: Rex Ramsdale backed for United
Aaron Ramsdale has been tipped to be a good option for Manchester United in the summer.
The Southampton goalkeeper is expected to be on the move this summer after the club's relegation from the Premier League.
Ally McCoist has claimed that the former Arsenal ace would be a better option than Andre Onana.
He told talkSPORT: "I don’t think it’d be daft at all.
"I don’t fancy Onana to be honest with you, I’m not sure he’s of the class Manchester United need as a goalkeeper moving forward.
"The squad’s needing a dramatic overhaul and that wouldn’t be the daftest move.
"I’d be staggered if he starts next year at Southampton. I don’t think he’ll be there next season in the Championship.”
Rooney message to Rashford
Wayne Rooney sent a clear message to Marcus Rashford following Aston Villa's exit from the Champions League.
The Villans were dumped out of Europe by PSG despite a brave performance at Villa Park in the second leg.
Rashford was one of the more impressive players and Rooney is keen to see him return to Manchester United after his loan expires.
Speaking on Amazon Prime, he said: "I hope Rashford goes back to Manchester United and performs like he did tonight.
"That’s what we all want to see as Manchester United fans."

Butt slams ace
Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has hit out at Christian Eriksen following the defeat to Newcastle.
Butt claimed that the Dane can not "move or run" anymore.
He said: "They just lay down and let themselves get beat too easily.
"They have no power and no pace. It is sad to see.
"I see Christian Eriksen who was a top player and now he can't move, can't run. It's ridiculous."
Veterans to leave
Both Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans will reportedly leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the two veterans will see their time at the club come to an end.

It follows Gary O'Driscoll's decision to step down from his role as the head of sports medicine.
Jim Moxon also left the club as a first-team doctor after two years at Old Trafford.
Binningsley said: "After 26 consecutive years in football, I have decided that now is the right time to step back and give back to my family.
"Those who have lived it – especially at a club like Manchester United – realise that time is so precious. The schedule, travelling and training, is very tough, often to the detriment of those closest to us
"'I feel so humble that I have 'lived the dream'. I'm looking forward to spending some time with the family and seeing what the future holds."
BREAKING: Zirkzee blow
Joshua Zrikzee is set to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury, according to reports.
The Netherlands international was subbed in the second half of United's thrashing at the hands of Newcastle last weekend after pulling up.

Antony update
Antony's success at Real Betis has reportedly cost Manchester United nearly £500,000.
The Red Devils inserted a clause into his loan deal that would see the LaLiga side fork out £480,000 if he did not play enough games.
ABC Sevilla has claimed that the threshold of 15 games was set.
The Brazilian has already achieved that amount since his arrival in January which means Betis will not have to pay out.

Onana 'in trouble'
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that goalkeeper Andre Onana is in "trouble" after he was dropped from the matchday squad against Newcastle.
Onana was left out of the match in the 4-1 defeat to the Magpies following his errors against Lyon in the Europa League last week.
Neville now believes that the former Inter Milan star could be on the chopping block at Old Trafford this summer.
Speaking on NBC Sports, Neville said: "Look, he's in trouble. Leaving the goalkeeper out is never the same as leaving out a centre-forward or a central midfield player. It creates a real tremor.
"I think once you get uncertainty in your goalkeeping position, that anxiety spreads all the way through the dressing room, through the defence and into the stadium.
"The keeper never fully feels valued again. I think there's an element that Ruben Amorim has got to the end of his tether. I think it's mistake, after mistake, after mistake, he's made so many and he's been very erratic.
"And that's the one position you need consistency and reliability. You can accept sometimes that a winger or a forward misses a chance - that happens.
"But for goalkeepers, they have to be reliable, and he's not been. It's getting to the point now - who does Ruben Amorim like in that squad? Who does he want to keep? He would have been hoping that his goalkeeper was one of them, but I think it's doubtful."
More on Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund has reportedly gained interest from Italy ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tutto Juve has claimed that Napoli and Juventus are targeting the misfiring striker.
The report has suggested that a bid in the region of £42million could be enough to convince Manchester United to cash in on the Dane.

Cherki scored in the first leg of Thursday's Europa League quarter-final clash in France between the two sides.
Chelsea are also interested in the winger ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues and United are set to bid for the Frenchman, but prizing him out of the Groupama Stadium may be tough, as Lyon have no interest in letting the 21-year-old leave.
