Salah wants Virgil to stay
Speaking after the game, Mo Salah told Sky Sports: "I am glad we managed to do my contract before the end of the season.
"Hopefully, Virgil will be next.
"He can do whatever he wants but I would love to play with him next season."
Match report from Chelsea
Jadon Sancho's week ended on a high with the goal that spared Chelsea a major embarrassment.
The winger was credited with two assists in Thursday’s Conference League win at Legia Warsaw and in his next game Sancho got on the scoresheet for the first time since December.
His stunning curled shot was a high note on a disappointing day for The Blues as they had to come from 2-0 down just to earn a point against a team hurtling towards relegation.
Virgil contract?
Virgil van Dijk was pushed on his contract situation after the game today, telling Sky Sports: "These things [the own goal] unfortunately happen and it was time to make it right.
"On to the next one. I am very happy to captain my 100th game for Liverpool, it was an emotional day with Hillsborough and that was the main focus. One step closer to all our dreams.
"Everyone knows how much I love this club and let's see what next week will look like."
Molineux match report
Tottenham's disastrous season took another turn as Wolves turned on the style at Molineux.
A fuming Ange Postecoglou could only watch on as he was taunted with chants of "You're getting sacked in the morning".
Wolves needed just two minutes to break the deadlock as they chased a fourth-straight league win.
Match report from Anfield
It's just as well Mo Salah signed his contract - because you wouldn’t give Liverpool much chance of defending their impending Premier League title without him.
Anfield’s Egyptian king, who agreed a new two-year deal on Friday, teed up Luis Diaz for an early strike with his 18th assist of the season.
But this was another unconvincing display from Arne Slot’s champions-elect as Virgil Van Dijk’s 90th-minute header earned an undeserved win over struggling West Ham.
Skipper Van Dijk had been the villain just three minutes earlier when he was involved in a horrible mix-up with Andy Robertson, whose own goal equalised for Graham Potter’s side.
Liverpool now need only six points to make certain of their record-equalling 20th English top-flight title - and could be crowned as early as next Sunday, when they visit Leicester.
But had second-placed Arsenal not given up the ghost, we might easily have had a proper title race.

This was such a frustrating game for Ange Postecoglou as a series of defensive mistakes allowed Wolves to record a comprehensive win that all but seals their Premier League status for next season.
Djed Spence, Christian Romero and Lucas Bergvall were all at fault as Wolves recorded a commanding fourth successive win.
Spurs gave themselves a chance with goals from Mathys Tel and sub Richarlison. But they pressed the self-destruct button time and again.
FULL TIME! Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich
The Blues battle back from two goals down but it's a really poor performance and result in the chase for the Champions League.
90+5 - CLOSE! Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich
WHAT A SAVE FROM PALMER!
Enzo Fernandes thrashing the ball towards goal as the ball rolled through to him in the box but his effort from eight yards is kept out by a strong Palmer arm.
He went down starfish style to push it behind.
90+3 - CLOSE! Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich
Palmer collects the ball on the edge of the box and looks to place it into the bottom corner but his namesake gets down to tip it wide!
Chelsea putting on the pressure in the final few minutes!
90+4 - Liverpool 2-1 West Ham
CLOSE - OFF THE BAR!
Kilman's delivery from the left is helped towards goal by Fullkrug and it's beaten Alisson but comes back off the bar!
90 - Liverpool 2-1 West Ham
Seven minutes additional time!
90 - Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich
Six minutes additional time!
90 - GOAL!! LIVERPOOL 2-1 West Ham
Would you believe it!? The soon-to-be champions have won it at the death!
And it might well have been his fault for the equaliser but VIRGIL VAN DIJK heads it home!
And if you're Graham Potter you have to be raging with Lucas Paqueta. He once again throws himself to ground under no challenge at all trying to buy a free kick and Andy Madley does well to see through the nonsense and wave play on.
From a Liverpool corner, Van Dijk heads home from eight yards out.
86 - GOAL!! WOLVES 4-2 Tottenham
Oh Spurs, Spurs, Spurs!!
MATHEUS CUNHA with the goal to settle this one again!
85 - GOAL!! Wolves 3-2 TOTTENHAM
Spurs back in it again!
RICHARLISON with the goal!
86 - GOAL!! Liverpool 1-1 WEST HAM
It had been coming and West Ham have their equaliser.
It's an ANDY ROBERTSON own goal!
He's absolutely RAGING with Virgil van Dijk for not clearing it, instead getting in the way to see Robertson help it into his own net.
And a minute or so after replacing Mo Salah!
83 – Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich
So, so good from Delap to collect the ball on halfway.
He's toying with the Chelsea defenders as he skips by two of them into the Blues' half before winning the corner.
79 - GOAL!! CHELSEA 2-2 Ipswich
Fabulous finish from JADON SANCHO brings Chelsea level!
He replaced Noni Madueke to boos from the Chelsea supporters.
But in a game of little quality from the home side, this finish was a piece of that.
The corner they'd won is taken short and Sancho makes a dart heading towards the corner of the area before opening his body up and bending a terrific strike into the far top corner.
The Blues racing to the halfway line, they know a winner is needed!
From Graham Hill at Molineux
Spurs are in a giveaway mood this afternoon - and Postecoglou must be so frustrated.
Tottenham had put themselves back in the game after an hour.Sub Lucas Bergvall came on and made an immediate impact, he fed Brennan Johnson on the right and his cross was misjudged by Nelson Semedo - Mathys Tel took advantage to smuggle the ball home at the near post.
But, five minutes later, Spurs threw away the advantage with another defensive howler.
Ait-Nouri robbed skipper Christian Romero who failed to deal with the situation when he appeared to have it covered. Ait-Nouri then crossed for Strand Larsen and he scored his 12th goal of the season from close range - making it five goals in four games for the Norwegian.
Spurs Fact: In Mauricio Pochettino's best three seasons - 2015-16, 16-17 and 17-18, Spurs lost 17 games, which is currently the same number as this season under Postecoglou.
77 – Chelsea 1-2 Ipswich
Enzo Fernandez gathers the ball in the centre circle and drives to within 25 yards of goal.
His shot is low and on target, but it's a pretty poor attempt which rolls into Palmer's arms.
