Barcelona’s home kit for next season leaked as new sponsor Rakuten come on board
The strip has adopted the stripes back into the middle of the jersey, in a flashback to the kit of the 2011-12 season
PHOTOS of Barcelona's home kit for next season have been leaked - and it's a real blast from the past.
With new sponsor Rakuten back on board, and their name emblazoned in the middle, the jersey has those famous stripes back.
But they are less prominent than those on the 2011-12 strip, with red and blue only seen in the centre front and centre back of the shirt.
Above the sponsor's name to the left is the famous Barcelona crest, and to the right is the Nike logo.
Global electronics brand Beko have their sponsorship on the arms of the shirt, while Unicef will be stamped towards the bottom of the shirt on the back.
Barcelona will be hoping that the kit brings them better success than season 2011-12 however.
Although they won four cups that year, the Copa Del Rey, The Uefa Super Cup, the Fifa World Club Cup and the Supercopa, they finished as runners-up to fierce rivals in La Liga.
And in the Champions League they made it to the semi-finals, where they were famously beaten by Chelsea 3-2 on aggregate. Chelsea, of course, went on to defeat Bayern Munich on penalties in the final.
So, the Catalans may have a new kit, but they are stills seeking their new manager after Luis Enrique confirmed he is to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season.
