Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn LIVE RESULTS: Eubank Jr discharged from hospital as massive rematch mooted

CHRIS EUBANK JR has now been discharged from hospital after his generational grudge match with Conor Benn concluded in stunning scenes in one of the fights of the century.

What started hesitantly soon kicked into an all-out bloody war as Eubank Jr won by a unanimous decision - before the winner was taken to hospital.

Despite suffering a huge cut above his right eye, Eubank Jr upped the pressure on Benn in the final stages of what was an absolute classic and a rematch has already been eyed for later this year.

Eubank Jr walked down into the ring with his father, Chris Eubank Sr, who had made a shock appearance for the big main event.

Here is an update of both players' records after Saturday's mammoth fight.

Chris Eubank Jr: Wins 35, losses 3
Conor Benn: Wins 14, loss 1

  • Final say

Conor Benn left fans baffled after they spotted the first person he spoke to outside of the ring after his fight with Chris Eubank Jr.

Benn, 28, suffered his first career defeat to Eubank Jr at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday.

And when the camera panned to Benn to see who he was conversing with, people were stunned to learn it was celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Before the fight, Ramsay, 58, had predicted the son of Nigel Benn to come away with the victory.

Picked up on cameras he could be heard saying, "well done" to Benn for his effort in the thrilling clash.

  • Eubank Jr's hospital visit

Chris Eubank Jr needed an immediate hospital visit and a 24-hour stay after showing signs of chronic dehydration.

The post-fight claim that he was hospitalised with a broken jaw inflicted by Conor Benn were bogus.

And the gash he suffered from a Benn head clash could have been seen and stitched by the on-site doctors.

But Eubank was taken to the Royal London hospital so his kidneys, brain and heart could be monitored overnight, following a brutal 12-round fight and a dangerous 48-hour weight-cut dehydration.

    Round by brutal round

CHRIS EUBANK JR secured the family bragging rights in his second generation grudge match against Conor Benn.

With three unanimous 116-112 verdicts, Eubank Jr prevailed in the family feud, with his dad making a return to his corner to watch it.

It lived up to the all hype - EVERY round was bloody, tasty and violent, before the more-experienced Eubank stood strong to come back into it and snatch victory.

Here, SunSport's Jack Figg gives you the ultimate breakdown of a gripping clash between the sons of two British boxing legends.

  • Denied rumours

Team Eubank were forced to deny rumours that Eubank Jr had suffered a broken jaw from the fight, with Benn saying: "I wish him well. I know he’s gone to the hospital.

"I have heard he’s got a broken jaw do I wish him a speedy recovery."

Eubank's promoter Ben Shalom said in a statement: "I'm pleased to confirm that Chris is doing well and currently resting. There is no truth to the rumours regarding a broken jaw.

"As part of his standard post-fight protocol, Chris went to hospital for precautionary checks to monitor his vitals and ensure everything is in order.

"They take these measures very seriously, given everything they have experienced in the past. This process is something they now prioritise after every fight.

"Chris and Conor gave absolutely everything in what was the biggest legacy fight of all-time.

"With their fathers standing proudly behind them, it was a moment that will forever be stamped in sporting history."

  • Debt collectors

Conor Benn lost in and out of the ring as his company suffered a racked up debts of £400,000.

Paperwork for The Destroyer Ltd show the sum owed by ex-world champ Nigel Benn’s son, 28, which includes bank loans and trade creditors.

But thankfully for him, he took home a share of the £18million purse against Chris Eubank Jr

His firm was set up in 2016 when Conor, who has a love of expensive cars, made his pro debut.

And now Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh suggested the highly-anticipated rematch could take place in just five months at the same venue.

Alalshikh said: "If they’re not injured and ready, we want the rematch in late September at Tottenham.

He received congratulations from fans and others within boxing, including his cousin Harlem Eubank.

    Harlem wrote: "Proud cuz👏🏽"

  • Eubank Sr - Benn is being 'destroyed'

Chris Eubank Sr warned Conor Benn that he is being "destroyed" by his team.

Eubank watched his son beat Benn - who moved up two weight divisions - in a unanimous decision last night in North London.

He said: "He has been destroyed by the people who are handling him.

"They need to be held to account. Do your job, do your job, do your job!"

  • Round 2

Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn could be headed for a rematch - and sooner than you may think.

Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh suggest Round 2 could take place in just five months - and be held in North London again.

Alalshikh said: "If they’re not injured and ready, we want the rematch in late September at Tottenham.

"The British fans were amazing, and I thank them."

  • Billy verdict

Billy Joe Saunders was involved in a wild altercation after trying to get into Eubank Jr's dressing room before the bout to check his gloves.

But Next Gen's former opponent believes the result was fair.

He told IPL TV: "At the end of it, I felt that Eubank won it.

"But if they would’ve said split decision or a draw, no-one could’ve really went out in a huff and a puff."

He said: "We have to think about what we’re going to do next because he showed tonight he’s a world class fighter, and he can win world titles at 147 or 154.

"We have a rematch up at 160, but this kid can become a superstar of the sport in this country.

“He could be filling arenas, filling stadiums.

"It’s not about just throwing him back in a war, trying to avenge a defeat in a weight class he probably shouldn’t be in.

"I think he can win a rematch, and I think it’s the biggest fight in Britain and one of the biggest in the world.

"We have to think carefully what we do because he’s been through an unbelievable amount."

  • Chris it better

Chris Eubank Jr's team have provided a health update after he was rushed to hospital last night.

After the fight, his doctor ordered him to hospital and Jr could not attend his post-fight press conference.

And his team have confirmed this morning rumours of a broken jaw were not true.

Eubank's promoter Ben Shalom said: "I'm pleased to confirm that Chris is doing well and currently resting.

"There is no truth to the rumours regarding a broken jaw."

  • 'People's champion'

Conor Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn said: "Unbelievable! I couldn’t split them at the end. I thought Conor Benn was winning the fight, but I thought he lost the last two round.

"I didn't see Chris Eubank winning that fight by four rounds at all but forget that - unbelievable respect for both men.

"I could not be prouder of Conor Benn for what he has been through and the heart he has showed.

"Nigel Benn was the people's champion, tonight Conor Benn became the people's champion. He won the hearts of everybody who tuned in."

  • Eubank-Benn rivalry OVER

35 years of the Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr rivalry were settled with 36 minutes of violence.

All the brothers, all the sons and all the dads were sharing cuddles and hugs and talking to each other with great respect at the end.

If they decide to do a rematch, it can't be about that same supposed hatred and it shouldn't involve Eubank Jr having to boil down to this weight again.

Let them move on and get on with their careers.

  • Proud Eubank

Chris Eubank Jr did not attend his press conference as he was rushed to hospital with injury.

But giving his immediate reaction in the ring, he said: "I knew I was capable of that. I just needed someone to bring that out of me. I’m not going to lie, I did not expect that he’d be the guy to do that.

"But the fact that our fathers did what they did all those years ago, it brings out a different soul, a different spirit. That’s what we both showed here tonight.

“I pushed through. There’s a lot of things that have been going on in my life that I’m not going to get into right now, but I’m happy to have (my father) back with me.

"We upheld the family name like we said we were going to do. Onwards and upwards from here.”

  • 'I love my son'

Chris Eubank Sr slammed his eldest ahead of the bout, blasting him as a "disgrace", claiming he did "not understand boxing" and even going as far as adding that his licence should be revoked.

Sr was unhappy over his son's egg slap and had major concerns over him dropping so much weight to make the limit.

But after his arrival at the stadium last night, Eubank Sr said: "Conor, that's not fair to say that I don't even like my son, I love my son.

"I may not like some of his ways, as I don't like some of your ways, but I love him."
