Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn LIVE RESULTS: Eubank Jr discharged from hospital as massive rematch mooted

CHRIS EUBANK JR has now been discharged from hospital after his generational grudge match with Conor Benn concluded in stunning scenes in one of the fights of the century.

What started hesitantly soon kicked into an all-out bloody war as Eubank Jr won by a unanimous decision - before the winner was taken to hospital.

  • Will Chris Eubank Snr make an appearance?

There's still no word about Chris Eubank Snr making an appearance in tonight's huge clash.

It still doesn't look likely that Eubank Jr will have his father rooting in his corner as he said in a interview to seconds out, "You're a disgrace, I'll never be in your corner!" upon his son throwing an egg in Benn's face.

However, in an interview with Piers Morgan Eubank Jr said, "He's my father I still love him"
"If you're not there I'll get the job done for you."

It's clear that Eubank Jr would love to have his dad rooting for him just as Nigel Benn will be there in his son's corner.

It would be like de ja vu for boxing fans to see the two in the ring again.

Nigel Benn also said in an interview with BBC that he'd ,"100% love him to be there."

  • Fatherly love

Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr had been rivals since their grudge match in 1990.

Eubank Sr won the fight by stoppage in the ninth round with the WBO title on the line.

They then drew in a rematch three years later.

Since then, they have put water under the bridge between them, but now, their sons have formed their own rivalry.

  • Some pre-fight viewing

SunSport's boxing gurus Wally Downes Jr and Jack Figg sat down with Chris Eubank Sr, Harlem Eubank and George Groves earlier this week.

It is disgraceful! Eubank Sr | Eubank Jr V Benn: No Glove Lost fight preview
  • Not so egg-cellent

Chris Eubank Sr says his son should have his boxing licence REVOKED after he slapped Conor Benn with an egg.

Tonight’s fight between Eubank Jr and Benn threatened to kick off early when Eubank Jr cracked an egg across Benn's face in their press conference in February.

And his estranged dad was so disgusted by the stunt that he claimed the British Boxing Board of Control should have stripped his son of his licence.

Eubank Sr said on SunSport's explosive show: "He must have his licence revoked."

Fellow panelist George Groves - who beat Eubank Jr in 2018 - pointed out that the middleweight was "pretty severely" punished to the tune of a £100,000 fine.

But Sr snapped back: "A lot of money? Some people don't earn that money during their careers but it's nothing to him because of the money that he's actually earning.

"But what he's doing is sending a message which makes a mockery of boxing.

"And you're not looking at that and I don't know why you're not looking at that."

  • Eubank Jr 0-1 Benn

After failing to meet the weight requirements yesterday, Benn sees that as a point earned in the mind games.

Benn celebrated his unexpected windfall by posting a cheeky clip of the "Show me the money" scene from the Jerry Maguire film.

The fighter himself grinned as he said "Show me the motherf***ing money".Benn had earlier weighed in surprisingly light at 156.4lbs - nearly 4lb under the middleweight limit.

  • Undercard starting soon

Fans will no doubt be flocking to their seats for the huge fight at the top of the bill.

But look at this for an undercard.

With the history lesson out of the way, let’s take a look at how these British stars compare.

Illustration comparing Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn's boxing stats.
  • Weight a minute

Chris Eubank Jr is set to pay a massive fine directly to Conor Benn after missing weight by just 0.05lb yesterday.

At his first attempt, he scaled 160.2lb before his second and final go saw him tip 160.05lb - missing the mark by an agonising 0.05lb.

For context, that is the same weight as an AA Battery.

It means Eubank will have £375,000 deducted from his purse per the rules in their contract - with the cash going directly to Benn.

Benn had earlier weighed at 156.4lbs - nearly 4lb under the middleweight limit.

The rehydration clause in the contract saw both fighters take to the scales again this morning, with the pair making weight under the 170lbs limit.

Eubank Jr came in at 169.4lbs, while Benn tipped at the slightly lower 165lbs.

  • Welcome to SunSport’s coverage of Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn

After years of back and forths, the day is finally here boxing lovers and I for one cannot wait for these two machines to get into the ring!

For now, the Eubank's hold the bragging rights, after Eubank Sr won the first fight in 1990, and held on to his record when the second fight was declared a draw in 1993.

But its the turn of Conor Benn and Eubank Jr to spark things back into life this weekend.

Eubank Jr and Benn were originally scheduled to step into the ring in 2022, before Benn was suspended from donning his gloves after testing positive for banned drug Clomifene.

That's added three more years to an intense feud, with the pair finally returning for their punch-up.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will play host to the British battle as Benn and Eubank Jr start their own chapter in domestic boxing.

It might feel like unfinished business for longstanding boxing fans who will remember when Nigel Benn called out Eubank Sr for a third fight back in 2016, but nothing ever came of it.

Despite a feeling that their fathers are now friendly, their is certainly a real rivalry between the new generation.

The build-up to the fight has certainly had plenty of needle.

Most notably Eubank Jr's decision to slap an egg across Benn's cheek during a media conference - a cheeky nod to Benn's defence of his drugs ban being down to a "highly elevated consumption" of eggs.

Eubank - who had 16 eggs nestled in his pocket at the time - coughed up a hefty £100,000 fine for his antics.

Now fans are hoping the battle in the ring will be just as entertaining as the build-up as the pair spark their father's legacy back to life.SunSport has all the information ahead of this MASSIVE grudge fight in North London which includes the mega undercard.
