Paris Saint-Germain 5 Bastia 0: French giants sweep away Ligue 1’s bottom club to keep up title chase
Goals from Lucas Moura, Marco Verratti, Edinson Cavani and Marquinhos handed PSG the three points
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN kept their Ligue 1 title hopes alive as they thumped bottom club Bastia 5-0.
PSG scorers Lucas Moura, Marco Verratti, Edinson Cavani and Marquinhos secured all points for the title contenders - but it was Marco Verratti's controversial goal that was the talk of the game.
After 30 minutes into the first-half, Moura and Verratti were on target within the space of three minutes of each other.
However Verratti's worldy from 30 yards left the Bastia fans livid as goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca had been checking on injured PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
In the second-half Cavani scored twice, meaning he has now scored 46 goals in 47 games for PSG this season across all competitions.
Marquinhos netted in between Cavani's efforts leaving bottom of the table Bastia worse for wear.
