Arsenal join race with Manchester City for Juventus star Alex Sandro
26-year-old Brazilian left back would cost a minimum of £30million but both clubs remain in the hunt for the highly rated defender
Arsenal are to make a move for Alex Sandro this summer, pitting them against Manchester City for the highly rated Juventus left back.
According to sources Arsene Wenger is prepared to make a move for the 26-year-old Brazilian, who would cost a minimum of £30m.
A new left back has long been a target for Arsenal, with both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs considered not at the required level to push Arsenal forward in the coming years.
Sandro has been one of the stand out performers for Massimiliano Allegri's team this season and Juventus are keen to retain their man by offering a new bumper deal.
However interest across Europe remains for Sandro, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid all monitoring the situation closely.
Sandro moved to Juventus from Porto in August 2015 for €26m and quickly eased Patrice Evra out of the side.
Sandro has become an integral part playing at wing-back in Juventus' fabled 3-5-2, and his attack-minded mentality saw him dubbed 'the new Roberto Carlos' from a young age when playing for Santos in Brazil.
While Sandro's reputation has been soaring in Europe over the last year, Real Madrid's Marcelo is still the favoured left back for the national side with the Juventues man only gaining six caps to date.
