Conor McGregor confirms Floyd Mayweather fight contract has been signed as mega-battle edges ever closer

Irish UFC star is all ready to step in the ring and is now waiting for boxing legend to pen his side of the agreement

CONOR McGREGOR claims he has signed a contract to fight boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

The UFC star has been desperate to step in the ring with 'Money' Mayweather.

And it seems a mega-fight is growing ever-closer following McGregor's latest admission.

The MMA ace told : "The first, and most important, part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on.

"It is an honour to sign this record-breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management.

"Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer's signature in the coming days."

The world is now waiting for Mayweather's next move, but the retired fighter insists he will get his gloves back on for this special bout.

He said: "There's only one fight that makes business sense. I came out of retirement because I'm a businessman and I want to five the world what they want to see.

"McGregor's a fighter. I'm a fighter. This is what the fight fans and MMA fans want to see."

Meanwhile, UFC chief Dana White revealed it's just a matter of time before the fight is confirmed altogether.

He added: "The McGregor side is done. I'm starting to work on the Mayweather side now. I'm not saying the fight will happen. I got one side done; now it's time to work on the other."
