ENGLAND will have five teams in the Champions League next season after Manchester United's victory over Ajax in the Europa League final.

Jose Mourinho's men sealed Euro glory thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and will take their place in the top tier continental competition from September.

Man United will go straight into the group stages along with Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City, the top three in the Premier League.

Liverpool, who finished fourth in the Premier League, will face a play-off tie in August to get into the group stages.

Had Manchester United lost to Ajax in Wednesday's final, they would have entered the Europa League next season along with Arsenal and Everton.

Arsenal, who finished fifth in the Premier League, will go straight into the group stages of the Europa League while Everton enter at the third qualifying round stage late in July.

The Champions League group stages will begin on September 12, one month after the new Premier League season begins on August 12.
