Borussia Dortmund begin talks with Nice boss Lucien Favre to replace sacked Thomas Tuchel
Swiss boss has managed in the Bundesliga previously and boasts an impressive track record
BORUSSIA DORTMUND have lined up Nice boss Lucien Favre to become their next manager.
The German side sacked Thomas Tuchel on Tuesday with reports suggesting he had fallen out with staff and players at the club.
But they are wasting no time in finding his successor after Favre overachieved with the French side by guiding them to third in Ligue 1.
, Dortmund have already started negotiations to bring the 59-year-old to the Westfalenstadion.
The Swiss boss already has experience managing in the Bundesliga with spells at Hertha BSC and Borussia Monchengladbach.
One season after keeping Monchengladbach in the top flight against the odds, they booked their place in the Champions League after a fourth place finish.
After leaving the club he was heavily linked with the vacant Everton job but got "tired of waiting" before signing for Nice.
Favre helped revive Mario Balotelli's career with the maverick Italian scoring 15 times in 20 starts for the French side.
Meanwhile Southampton could be lining up an ambitious move for Tuchel to replace Claude Puel.
