SOUTHAMPTON star Virgil van Dijk has sent out a cryptic post suggesting he is pondering his next move.

The defender's potential £60million switch to Liverpool fell through after the Reds were caught red handed trying to tap the player up.

The Holland international took to Instagram just a day later to post a picture of him on a private jet with a 'thinking bubble' emoji.

Van Dijk is seen staring out of the window possibly reflecting on what the summer has in store for him.

The 25-year-old is not set to be short of options with Manchester City and Chelsea also interested.

But in their grovelling apology to Southampton, a statement read that they would end 'any interest' in he highly-wanted star.

Saints are now expected to receive a influx of offers from Europe's biggest clubs which could also rise his price-tag to up to £75m. 

Van Dijk moved to the south coast on an £11.5m deal from Celtic in 2015.

The 25-year-old signed a new six-year deal with Southampton just last year.
