Floyd Mayweather books Las Vegas venue for ‘boxing event’ suggesting THIS is the date for his blockbuster bout against Conor McGregor
Mayweather Promotions look to have finally moved to get the fight of the century underway
FLOYD MAYWEATHER'S promotion company has booked the MGM Grand for Saturday, August 26 this year for a "boxing event", according to the Nevada State Commission's website.
As Mayweather Promotions has no other boxing event coming up, this suggests the former world champion and Conor McGregor have FINALLY set a date for their proposed cross-sport blockbuster bout.
The website also states that the event will be broadcasted by ShowTime, which Mayweather, 40, has had an exclusive deal with to film all his fights for many years now.

Fuelling the fire even more so is the fact his last 12 fights have been at Las Vegas' MGM Grand.
UFC superstar McGregor, 28, has agreed to his side of the deal and applied for his boxing licence to allow him to fight in Vegas.
The ball is now in Mayweather's court and his signature is all that is left to get the fight of the century - supposedly worth one billion dollars - underway.

Earlier today, McGregor teased fans by tweeting: "Something BIG is coming."
The two-time UFC champ, who has had his hands tied looking after his son Conor McGregor Jr, could have been hinting toward the booking made by Mayweather Promotions.
Mayweather has been tight-lipped over his proposed fight against the Irishman.
The former five-division world champion, who was unbeaten as a fighter, now works as a promoter after retiring in 2015.
But he is tipped to put his gloves back on to shut up McGregor.
Speaking ahead of protege Gervonta Davis' IBF junior lightweight defence, Mayweather said: "There's only one fight that makes business sense.
"I came out of retirement because I'm a business man and I want to give the world what they want to see.
"McGregor's a fighter, I'm a fighter and that's what the people want to see."
Mayweather made a staggering £630million for a number of world-title fights throughout his career.
And he reckons he can pocket more than the £231m he cashed in for beating Manny Pacquiao in 2015 by taking on McGregor.
He added: "I think I'm one of the highest paid athletes in history, probably Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, LeBron [James] all them guys made a ton of money.
"I made 300 [million dollars] in one night. Throughout my career I made 800 [million dollars] and it's possible I can make another 300 [million dollars].
"I think we can do record-breaking numbers, do I think we can break me and Pacquiao's number? I don't know, all I can do is keep my fingers crossed and hope we can do it."
