Before retiring, Mayweather fought Andre Berto, in September 2015 to take him just one bout away from his 50th fight.

McGregor's inexperience will certainly show - but physically he has the edge on Mayweather.

The two-time UFC champion has a longer reach and will pack more power in his punches.

And his own record of 21-3 is not half bad either.

McGregor has begun preparation and updated his online followers with a picture of himself wearing boxing gloves during sparring.

Meanwhile, UFC chief Dana White reckons the Irishman will pocket an incredible £78million for the Las Vegas super-fight.

Mayweather hopes to earn at least £231m - the same amount he took home for fighting Pacquiao.
