Gianluigi Donnarumma to spark transfer scramble after young shot stopper rejects AC Milan contract
18-year-old sensation is wanted by Europe's biggest clubs including Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United
GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA is set to spark a transfer scramble after rejecting AC Milan's new contract.
The Italian wonderkid is wanted by Europe's biggest clubs including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester United.
And he looks set to make a huge money money which could eclipse the £34.7million world record fee Man City paid Benfica to land Ederson.
The 18-year-old has just one-year left on his current contract following his sensational breakthrough season in Serie A.
But his stay at the San Siro looks to be coming to an end after the club met with Donnarumma's agent Mino Raiola for crunch talks on Thursday.
Talks over a new deal fell through which was confirmed by AC Milan CEO Marco Fassone.
He said: "Raiola informed us that Donnarrumma has made a definitive decision not to renew the contract with Milan.
"It's a definitive decision, made by the player.
"We were taken by surprise, as we had confidently hoped Donnarumma would be the goalkeeper taking Milan into the future that we could build the team around.
“We trust that we can do our best. Naturally, the decision leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, but now we have to go forward and Milan go forward.”
And it appears Real Madrid have already made a march over their rivals to land his signature.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri claims that the Spanish giants have already offered Donnarumma a stunning £5.2m-a-year deal to join the Bernabeu.
