Alvaro Morata ‘tells pals he IS joining Manchester United this summer after reaching agreement with Real Madrid’
Two clubs are at loggerheads over his fee with the Spanish giants demanding close to £80m for his signature
REAL MADRID wantaway Alvaro Morata has told friends he will be playing for Manchester United next season.
The Spanish striker is closing in on a switch to Old Trafford which could top a staggering £80million.
Both player and Real Madrid have agreed to part ways after the 24-year-old held showdown talks with club president Florentino Perez during his honeymoon.
And according to the , he has already said his farewells to friends and team-mates as he braces himself for a new challenge in the Premier League.
His representatives have also made it clear to United that their player wants the transfer to Old Trafford and are doing their best to try and get it through.
But there is proving to be one stumbling block as the two clubs are struggling to reach a fee.
Manchester United believe he is worth £63m having started just 14 league matches last season.
Real Madrid, however, are holding out for £79.5m - a price the Red Devils remain reluctant to pay.
Manchester United transfer news
Jose Mourinho has promised to fulfil Morata's request to become the main striker at the club following the decision not to renew Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract.
Zinedine Zidane doesn't want to let him leave but can't offer assurances that he will play ahead of Karim Benzema as the leading forward next season.
It has convinced Morata that a move to the Europa League champions is the right one which was later fuelled this week when his new wife Alice Campello began following United on Instagram.
