Anthony Yarde will take boxing buddy Ohara Davies out for fast food feast after weekend wins – but super lightweight golf flop is paying

ANTHONY YARDE will take Ohara Davies for a fast-food feast to celebrate their Saturday wins – but the golf hustler will let his pal pick up the bill.

Yarde fights for the WBO European title on Saturday in London while Davies battles for the super-lightweight commonwealth title at the same time in Scotland.

To mark their victories the Hackney pals will put their golfing rivalry aside and gorge on greasy grub for days and it’ll be Davies coughing up as he’s lost a fortune to his pal on the greens.

The MaxiMuscle ambassador said: “We are always at Top Golf because boxing is a tough game, it is mentally hard so we need to unwind with Top Golf, bowling, something to eat cinema. Anything to relax.

“I am the better golfer than Ohara 100 per cent. I have taken so much of the boy’s money he might as well pay my gym fees full time.

“When I come to the Peacock it is £4-per-session and Ohara has to pay it for me because that is how often I have beaten him.

“After our fights We are going to meet up and go for some serious food. He says he’s the fast-food king but it’s me really, I just don’t promote it as much.

“I am the one who got him eating bad. We went to Vegas and he would tell everyone he was eating healthy and he’d be turning down all the pizza and chocolate.

“And now, after his fights he says ‘f*** this I am going for a burger’.

“We work so hard in the gym – the body and mind fatigues and we get angry because we are so tired and hungry and we want to perfect things.

“Even after your fight on the night, you have loads of media you have to do and people expecting stuff from you and you want to make everyone proud.

“So afterwards I take three or four days off and I just want to eat and eat and eat.”

Floyd Mayweather’s critics are also dining out on the fact the 40-year-old is set to break Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 record with an August 26 win against a boxing novice.

Conor McGregor has never had a competitive fight yet is stepping in the ring with one of the bloody game’s greatest talents.

But Yarde feels the Money Man has earned the right to fight whoever he wants after turning his ring craft into a fine art on the canvas.

Yarde said: “I think Floyd has fought a lot more world champions than Marciano, it was different era and I think it’s disrespectful to compare those eras because the sport is always evolving.

Mayweather has been hit the least out of every world champion in history and that is the art of the sport; to hit and not get hit.

“Tyson did the same thing, you evade a punch and you return fire, you slip and counter.

Mayweather has been the best at it yet, he hasn’t always been the most entertaining for some fight fans who loves knock outs.

“But to box someone’s ears off for 12 rounds -  and not let them hit you – that for me is art.

“It’s like painting a picture, you take your time. I doubt Picasso ever painted a picture in an hour, he took his time, looked at every detail and made sure it was perfect.”

Ahead of just his twelfth pro fight, Yarde is being compared to legends like Mike Tyson and Nigel Benn, although he admits his earliest sporting heroes were WWE stars.

A win in May got Yarde the Southern Area title and he’s jumped straight up to European honours just two months later.

Despite talking the talk and walking the walk, so far, the Londoner is not interested in shouting his mouth off and demanding world title fights, but when the time comes he will be ready.
