Alvaro Morata asks Chelsea flop Fernando Torres for advice ahead of £65million switch

Spanish striker was asked if he had spoken to any of his international teammates as he arrived in London

ALVARO MORATA has revealed asked Fernando Torres for advice ahead of his move to Chelsea.

The Spanish international arrived in London this morning as he prepares to complete a £65million switch.

And asked is he had spoken to any of his Spain colleagues, the Real Madrid hitman named Blues flop Torres.

Morata, 24, told SkySports: "I have spoken with Fernando, who has told me he’ll give me a hand with whatever I need.

"I have been training hard for whatever outcome, but I was clear that this was my objective.

"It’s sad to leave Real Madrid, but I hope that everything will go well for me at Chelsea."

Torres scored just 20 league goals in 110 matches for the Blues after making a then club-record switch from Liverpool.

But he did manage to win the Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League in four seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Morata was believed to be heading for Manchester United this summer but saw Jose Mourinho opt for Romelu Lukaku instead.

And the 20-cap striker is delighted at how things have worked out.

He insisted working with "best coach in the world" Antonio Conte was a dream come true as the Italian believes in him.

Morata said:  “I’m going to the team managed by the coach who has placed the most faith in me, and that’s great for me.

“I am very happy, God willing, tomorrow I will be at Chelsea, a club that has always wanted me.

“I’m not disappointed about anything, I’ve won four titles here [Madrid], but now I only think of putting on the Chelsea shirt."
