Swansea transfer news: Nacer Chadli told to forget about leaving West Brom by defiant Tony Pulis
Belgian is being considered as a potential replacement for Gyfi Sigurdsson but Welsh boss is in no mood to sell
TONY PULIS has told record-buy Nacer Chadli his future lies with West Brom – not Swansea.
The Belgian international is a £15million target for Swans boss Paul Clement, who wants him to replace £50m Gylfi Sigurdsson if he joins Everton.
Swansea missed out on Chadli when West Brom paid Spurs £13m to make him their record signing last August and are willing to offer Baggies a speedy £2m profit.
Chadli had clear-the-air talks with Pulis, who allowed the Belgian to skip West Brom’s gruelling pre-season training camp in Austria.
However he will feature against Crystal Palace in Hong Kong tomorrow and Pulis says he expects him to see out his four-year contract at The Hawthorns.
The Welshman, 59, said: “We don’t need the money. We have no need to get rid.
“Chadli is a West Brom player and has been for a year – let’s hope he is for a couple more years.
"He is a top player and we want him to stay. We’re looking to add to the squad not reduce it.”
Pulis revealed Albion will treat around 40 travelling fans to a beer after inviting them in to their training session today.
But he joked they had better bring cash, as Chairman John Williams has long pockets – and short arms!
Pulis claimed: “I hope they have brought plenty of money with them because I haven’t seen him stick his hand in his pocket yet!
“It’s a lot of money to come out here so I think it was just what the club thought was right.
"John is going to take them out for a drink and they’re coming to a training session so they can have pictures taken and mix with the lads.”
