Jose Mourinho reveals his Manchester United transfer plans for rest of summer with midfielder and winger targeted

JOSE MOURINHO admitted he was looking for an attacking wide player when quizzed about Gareth Bale.

The Special One hugged the Real Madrid star and quipped "I can't buy you because you don't talk to me" earlier this week.

United take on La Liga rivals Barcelona tomorrow and the Portuguese was asked if he could confirm his interest in Bale, 28.

Mourinho said: “I’m happy with my squad but I’d like to have two more players – a midfielder, who would give me more options and more balance to the team.

"The other one, is an attacking player – especially one which can play on the wings – which would also give me more attacking options.

"But I never speak about players who belong to other teams. I don’t like it when other managers come along and say they like one of my players – that’s not the correct thing to do."

Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic could be the wide man Mourinho was alluding to as United try to get a deal over the line.

Their pursuit has dragged on all summer and Old Trafford chiefs have so far refused to meet the asking price.

If the move has hit the skids, Mourinho will be forced to turn elsewhere as he tries to get his squad together before the Super Cup clash with Los Blancos.

Realk do not want to sell Bale but need to raise cash if they are to land £161million Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

The midfielder he referred to is likely Nemanja Matic, who has also been strongly tipped to move to Old Trafford.

Mourinho's side have won all of the pre-season games heading into the Barca game and Mourinho will not let his side ease up as he looks to build momentum.

He added: “We will be up against a side with a new coach who knows what he has to do. It's the best way for us to bring the pre-season tour to an end.

"After this, we will be in official competition and looking to win trophies.

"It's a good way to bring our time in the United States to an end. It's better to face Barca now rather than later on.

“The team is growing how we want it to. We put in a great game against Madrid.

"In the first half we dominated a side who, apart from Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo, field all of their first choice regulars”.
