When is the World Athletics Championships opening ceremony?

The opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium will begin from 6pm.

Then the main action begins one hour later.

What events are on the first night?

Usain Bolt, who will have the last ever race of his illustrious career at the Games, will begin his quest for victory in his final individual race.

Bolt will run in the 100m first round heat at 8.20pm.

Brit running legend Mo Farah - as he also winds down his career - races in the 10,000m at 9.20pm.
