Brighton boss Chris Hughton breaks transfer record with £6m capture of PSV striker Davy Propper
The Premier League debutants seal the deal with the Holland international to complete their sixth signing of the summer
BRIGHTON have broken their transfer record for the second time this summer with a £6million deal for PSV forward Davy Propper.
The 25-year-old forward scored ten goals in all competitions for the Eredivisie giants last term.
The £6m fee exceeds the £5m the Seagulls paid for goalkeeper Matthew Ryan from Valencia earlier this summer.
Brighton have secured the Dutchman on a four-year deal, which will keep him at the Amex Stadium until 2021.
Propper will be hoping to get straight into the Brighton squad ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester City.
The experienced 25-year-old has played more than 250 senior games in his homeland, netting 43 times in the process.
He won the 2015/16 Eredivise title during his first season with PSV, after signing from Vitesse Arnhem.
Manager Chris Hughton told : "Davy is a player with great experience of the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem and PSV Eindhoven.
"There is no doubting his pedigree, Davy has played a number of matches in the Champions League for PSV, as well as international football for Netherlands.
"He is also a really good age at 25; we are absolutely delighted to welcome him to the club," the Seagulls boss confirmed.
Propper was first called up on international duty in 2013, but he didnt win his first cap until 2015 against USA.
He now has appearances for Netherlands under his belt, with the most recent against Ghana earlier this year.
