Thibaut Courtois gets over his penalty howler in Chelsea training as boss Antonio Conte mucks in with squad
The Blues look to move on from Community Shield upset and focus on Saturday's Premier League opener against Burnley
THIBAUT COURTOIS was full of smiles in Chelsea training - indicating he's over his Community Shield penalty howler.
And even Blues boss Antonio Conte got heavily involved at Cobham Training Centre with his side preparing for their Premier League opener against Burnley.
Chelsea missed out on the chance to secure their first silverware of the season after Alvaro Morata and Courtois both missed from the spot.
Conte was quick to defend the Belgian shot-stopper. He said: "He is one of our best players to take a penalty."
Using the new ABBA system of taking spot-kicks, the Gunners triumphed 4-1.
Chelsea have secured the signings of Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero this summer - but still the Blues boss wants more.
Conte has promised at least three more signings to bolster the Blues side ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
Chelsea will be looking to bin the bad form when the Premier League begins tomorrow, with Arsenal vs Leicester opening things up.
Conte has expressed his doubts that the current Chelsea squad will be able to defend their Premier League title.
When asked if he would struggle to replicate last term's triumphant form, he told Sky Sports: "Yeah, for sure.
"I hope to improve our squad and team. The transfer market isn't finished, we want to be competitive and we want to fight for our title.
"The club knows what priorities are. We have only three midfielders and we need another."
