Stoke confirm stunning season-long loan deal for PSG winger Jese Rodriguez
Talented winger is looking to rejuvenate his career in the Premier League following a string of injuries.
STOKE have confirmed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez on a season-long loan.
The Potters are ready to rejuvenate the former Real Madrid man's career following a string of injuries and poor form.
The 24-year-old completed his medical at Stoke's Clayton Wood training ground on Monday morning.
Rodriguez, once touted to be one of the best in the world, spent last season on loan at Las Palmas.
He was thought to be closing in on a move to Fiorentina until he heard of Mark Hughes' interest.
The Stoke boss had been in the market for a new winger after selling Marko Arnautovic to West Ham for £25million.
Big concerns also remain over the club's lack of goalscoring potential with £13m man Saido Berahino yet to net a competitive goal.
But Hughes will be hoping Rodriguez can fire the Potters up the Premier League - just a year after the player joined the French giants in a £21m deal from Los Blancos.
Rodriguez scored just three times in 13 La Liga starts last season.
Hughes' biggest problem with Rodriguez will be keeping him on the straight and narrow.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague told Sky Sports how he now "writes Reggaeton songs and seems distracted from football".
But Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes is confident he will be a success,
He said: “Jese was a man in demand when PSG made it clear they would allow him to leave on loan and we’re delighted he has chosen to join us.
“He hasn’t had the happiest of periods in his career in Paris but he’s still only a young man and is hungry to make a big impression in the Premier League.
“His pedigree speaks for itself and he will most certainly add to the firepower at our disposal.”
