ARSENAL reportedly rejected a £10million bid for Lucas Perez from his former club Deportivo La Coruna.
The Gunners are demanding a whopping £20million for the Spaniard that they signed last summer.
According to Spanish paper , Arsenal were swift to dismiss the Spanish clubs underwhelming offer.
The forward joined Arsenal from Deportivo last summer, but has failed to find his feet under the management of Arsene Wenger.
He only managed to tally a total of 11 appearances in the Premier League during his maiden season.
The Arsenal outcast has attracted a keen interest from Newcastle and Premier League debutants Brighton.
Arsenal are desperate to recoup the £17m they spent on the Spaniard last year.
Perez's agent, Rogrigo Fernandez Lovelle, believes that the offer his ex-club has a made is a "great deal" for Arsenal.
He told Sky Sports: "I think the £10.9m that Deportivo have offered is a great deal. Deportivo received £12.7m when they sold him to them last summer.
"They are giving everything to make this transfer possible. Lucas wants to play but he has a contract with Arsenal.
"I am hopeful an agreement can be reached."
The bid dismissal will bring good news to Newcastle, who have been strongly linked with the out-of-favour forward.
Toon boss Rafa Benitez has been frustrated with his club's lack of activity during this summer's transfer window.
Perez is keen to secure first-team football from a transfer, which would be offered at St James' Park.
