Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather: Tony Bellew wants slice of MMA vs boxing action with Michael Bisping mega-fight
Bellew and promoter Eddie Hearn have mentioned Andre Ward, Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder but could UFC star be next?
TONY BELLEW wants a slice of the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather pie with a mega-money fight against UFC champion Michael Bisping in a huge domestic battle.
The Everton hero is a big MMA fan and a worldwide name after beating David Haye in his first heavyweight fight and starring in the Rocky movie Creed.
Since stepping up from cruiserweight and winning his grudge match with the Hayemaker, Bellew has been weighing up boxing match-ups with the likes of Andre Ward, Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder.
The 34-year-old has ruled out challenging Anthony Joshua for his belts and facing Jon Jones for his new UFC light-heavyweight crown.
But he’s ready and willing to battle The Count and would even boil down to middleweight to challenge the English hero.
Bellew told Sky Sports: "I can wrestle, I can grapple, I punch hard, I can kick and I've got some kickboxing experience.
“You can forget about me getting in the cage with Jon Jones [UFC light-heavyweight champion] - not a chance.
"But if you're asking if I would get in the cage with a puncher in the UFC?

“Mike Bisping is a guy who is predominantly known as a puncher and he's a very strong wrestler as well.”
Bellew has even invited Bisping to make the same boxing transition that is set to help Conor McGregor bank £75million for fighting Floyd Mayweather.
The WBC cruiserweight king said he’d step boldly into the octagon for an MMA fight and offered Bisping a spot in his boxing ring, to make things fair.
The Scouse star said: “I think I could get down to 185lbs.
"If the money is right, then Tony Bellew would happily enter a cage or a ring.
“Maybe let's do one of them each.
"I'm a Michael Bisping fan, but if the money was right then the fan stuff goes out the window.”
Once fans got hyped with the news of a potential fight, both warriors took to social media to explain their stance.
Bellew said: "Just to clear things up.. I didn't call @bisping out! Im actually a fan of his tbh! They asked "would I fight him" to which I replied "YES".
And the MMA hard man said their were no hard feelings and gave the green light for a boxing match once he deals with current UFC rival Georges St Pierre.
Bisping said: "All good Tony. People twist things. But for the record, after gsp, I'm down to have a boxing match with you 100 percent."
