Claims Floyd Mayweather was knocked out ahead of Conor McGregor fight leaves Twitter completely unconvinced
Stunning reports claiming that undefeated American fighter was floored are untrue as same story surfaced years ago
TWITTER users have described reports claiming Floyd Mayweather Jr was KO’d after sparring with old rival Zab Judah as "horses***".
The undefeated American fighter takes on UFC star Conor McGregor a week on Saturday.
And reports from Las Vegas claim Mayweather has suffered a huge shock ahead of the bout after being floored by Judah during training.
But the astonishing claims have been shot down by boxing fans on Twitter, who point out that the same story emerged before Mayweather's win over Manny Pacquiao.
The new tale appeared to gain legs after Judah gave Mayweather a tough time during their 2006 fight.
He was reportedly drafted in for the training camp along with Errol Spence Jr, and additional reports claimed Judah gave Mayweather more than he bargained for after collapsing his fellow countryman during a “wild exchange”.
Mario Saunders tweeted: “World from inside #TMT, Zab Judah knocked out @FloydMayweather in Sparring during a wild exchange where both boxers began to brawl.
“Apparently Floyd kicked everyone out of the gym afterwards. More to come. Zab was mimicking Conor and just came right after him.”
However, many believe this to be false, with one user saying: "If that really happened you certainly wouldn't know it. Floyd would never allow that to get out of his gym walls."
Another said: "Fake news to make the hype bigger," with one user adding: "Fake news, we are not this stupid, this is Floyd trying to make people think Conor has more of a chance."
