Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather: UFC star says second-round win over Money Man will not be race-war victory
CONOR MCGREGOR will flatten Floyd Mayweather inside two rounds but not in the phony race war the Irishman claims the boxer has tried to declare.
The UFC star was accused of racism by the 49-0 boxing legend during their world tour when the insults and hype reached fever pitch.
The Dublin hero has labelled the Money Man a “rat and a weasel” for trying to stoke up racial tensions and sway the fight fans in his favour.
And he has insisted – ahead of the billion-dollar August 26 show – that the one-sided slapping he predicts will in no way be a triumph of white over black.
Mystic Mac said: “For me, this is athlete versus athlete.
“I was upset that Floyd tried to bring this in.
“I thought that was a weak move on his part, when he knows and his people truly know that it’s not from me.
“I’m not saying that there’s not people on both sides that have this mind-set, where it’s black versus white and this type of thing. But it’s certainly something I do not condone.
"This is athlete versus athlete, two prime physically conditioned athletes about to take part in an amazing event. And that’s it on my end.
“So I’m disappointed to hear sometimes the way it’s been portrayed.
“But I suppose it’s just the nature of the game with the way things are going on in the world at the moment.
“But all I can do is stay focused on my craft and look to go out and put on a great performance for the fans who are supporting this event as a whole.”
💎McGregor v Mayweather Tips: 11/8 Diamond💎
CONOR McGREGOR is used to 15-minute fights in the UFC and he will not go the distance.
Sun Bets go 11/10 that there will be fewer than nine completed rounds.
That is an extraordinary price given that one of the fighters has never had a professional boxing fight and one has a 49-0 record.
One Wednesday night the Nevada commission overseeing the cross-sport Las Vegas fight took the shock decision to let the 154lbs fight take place with 8oz gloves.
McGregor has vowed to rehydrate his body to the point where he could weigh as much as 170lbs.
And the two-weight MMA champion believes the switch in kit – which Mayweather supported and lobbied for – puts the contest even heavier in his favour.
He said: “That was a good thing for me. I'm very happy with it.
“You've got pros and cons on both sides. Favours us both in certain ways.
“I believe now that the gloves are eight ounces, I don't believe he makes it out of the second round. //www.instagram.com/p/BX3NEv8AquF/?hl=en&taken-by=thenotoriousmma

“Part of me - kind of wants to show some skills and dismantle him that way.
“I do not foresee him absorbing the blows in the first two rounds.
"I'm just looking forward to August 26, going in and proving what I'm saying and educating the world on what martial arts is and earning my respect in this game also.
“There is no way in hell that I am not ready to fight in the deepest of trenches in this contest.
“The training sessions and the practice that we've been putting in has been through hell and back. We are ready for absolutely every scenario.
“I'm ready to go to war for the full 12 rounds and I am ready to put him away in the first 10 seconds. That's where my head is at.”
