Zlatan Ibrahimovic targets Manchester United return in time for Tottenham clash on October 28 after signing new deal
Old Trafford staff have been amazed by striker's progress from serious knee injury and he could be back as soon as October
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC is targeting Manchester United's clash against Tottenham in October to make his comeback.
Just four months after his season-ending knee injury, the Swede has confounded medics and has penned a new one-year deal with the club.
United staff and the striker's doctors are amazed by his rapid progress following the surgery on damaged knee ligaments back in May.
Ibrahimovic, 35, has told pals that the injury is now fully recovered and he is planning proper ball work in the next few weeks.
Jose Mourinho could have the experienced forward available as early as Tottenham's visit on October 28.
SunSport recently revealed Ibra had been ordered to take a break from Carrington by his medics and go on holiday after working so hard on his rehab during the early part of summer.
United had originally expected Ibra to be back around December but are now having to revise his rehab schedule all the time.
Insiders have claimed he has even be able to indulge his love of yoga despite hyper-extending the joint in a Europa League clash with Anderlecht.
United have been scoring for fun this season despite the absence of last season's top scorer Ibrahimovic.
Record-signing Romelu Lukaku has hit the ground running with three goals in two league matches - helping blow away Swansea and West Ham 4-0.
But Ibrahimovic's return will provide a welcome boost for the second half of the season where United will be hoping to compete on several fronts.
