Crystal Palace step up chase for Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho as clubs come close to agreeing fee
Defender will bolster the Eagles' Premier League survival bid having been a huge hit on-loan last season
CRYSTAL PALACE have stepped up their chase to land Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho.
The Eagles have launched an initial £20million bid for the central defender with further add-ons expected to reach £30m, according to reports.
The France international was a huge hit on-loan at Palace last season and was the driving force behind their Premier League survival.
And boss Frank de Boer is desperate to bring Sakho back the club permanently having watched his side lose all three of their opening league matches.
According to journalist Dominic Fifield, a fee thought to be around £20m was agreed with both clubs but Liverpool are still holding out for more add-ons.
But he believes a deal will still be completed before Thursday's 11pm transfer deadline.
It remains the only stumbling block in the transfer with Sakho keen to join the league strugglers.
Sakho has been left to rot in Liverpool's reserves after having a falling out with Jurgen Klopp on pre-season last year.
