Arsenal transfer news: Alexis Sanchez’s Chile team-mates ‘applaud and congratulate’ forward after he tells them he is joining Manchester City
Gunners are willing to cash in on the forward but are desperate to land a replacement before the 11pm deadline
ALEXIS SANCHEZ has already told his Chile team-mates that he WILL leave Arsenal for Manchester City, according to reports.
And his fellow internationals "cheered and congratulated" the wantaway forward when he broke the news of his transfer.
Pep Guardiola is desperate to get a deal for Sanchez over the line before the end of the 11pm deadline.
The only thing holding up a £60million move is whether Arsenal can find a replacement in time.
But it appears the 28-year-old's long-awaited move to the blue half of Manchester is already confirmed.
According to Chilean journalist Matias Grez, Sanchez told his international team-mates that will be playing for the Spanish boss when he returns from international duty.
And publication La Tercera claimed that all of his Chile team-mates applauded him after he broke the news.
City currently have a delegation in Chile trying to get a deal finalised.
Arsenal news
But the move will rely heavily on whether the Gunners can land either Julian Draxler or Thomas Lemar.
Under pressure manager Arsene Wenger lodged a £90m offer for Monaco's Lemar - a target he has been chasing all summer.
Monaco have stated all summer that Lemar is not for sale but Arsenal's latest bid may be too high to turn down.
Meanwhile the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Draxler is still on but the Germany international is reluctant to make the switch to the Premier League.
Arsenal have already sold Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool in a £40m deal whilst Lucas Perez is also braced for a move to Deportiva La Coruna.
