Who is Joseph Parker, what is the former heavyweight champion’s full record, and which country is Dillian Whyte’s opponent from?

JOSEPH PARKER is set to fight Dillian Whyte in a make-or-break heavyweight showdown.

The 26-year-old is back in the ring after losing to Anthony Joshua in March and he is aiming for victory in a hope to secure a rematch with the British star.

The pair will come to blows on Saturday at the O2 and they will be fighting for the WBC Silver and vacant WBO International heavyweight titles.

Who is Joseph Parker?

BORN in South Aukland in 1992, Parker is also know by his Matai title Lupesoliai La'auli.

As an amateur, he represented New Zealand at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, just missing out on qualification to the London Olympics.

Since turning professional, Parker has fought the majority of his bouts on home soil and is signed to Deco Events.

What is his fight record?

PARKER was unbeaten before he faced Anthony Joshua at the Principality Stadium at the end of March. 

He turned professional in 2012 18 of his 24 fight wins have come from a knockout and six by decision.

The Kiwi won the vacant WBO heavyweight title in December 2016 when he beat Andy Ruiz by majority decision in New Zealand.

And he is the first heavyweight boxer from either New Zealand or the Pacific Islands to win a major world championship.

The fight with Joshua went to unanimous decision and the defeat lost hime the WBO heavyweight title.

Currently his record stands at 24-1.

Where is he from?

WHILST currently living in Las Vegas, Parker is from New Zealand and has fought the majority of his bouts in his home country.

This will be his third fight in England and fourth in Europe, having beaten Marceloa Luiz Nascimento in Germany three years ago.
