POG'S OP

Manchester United fear Paul Pogba may need operation on injured hamstring

Finnish surgeon Sakari Orava, who operated on £138m Barcelona signing Ousmane Dembele, consulted over surgery

PAUL POGBA could face surgery on his injured hamstring.

The Manchester United ace limped out of United’s 3-0 Champions League win over Basel on September 12.

And Finnish surgeon Sakari Orava says he has been consulted on the injury, with United set to make a decision next week on whether Pogba goes under the knife.

Orava, who operated on £138million Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele on Tuesday, said: “The decision on surgery will be made next week.

"His injury is a little different to Dembele, so he could heal without surgery.”

On Friday Jose Mourinho admitted he had “no idea” how many games Pogba would miss.

The France international had a scan on the injury the day after United beat Basel and underwent furthers tests last week.

But it is believed Pogba’s condition has not improved, with United now considering sending him to Finland for an op.

United initially hoped Pogba could return for the Prem clash at rivals Liverpool on October 14.

But surgery could rule him out of several more games, with United facing trips to Benfica, Huddersfield and Swansea after their visit to Anfield.
