WWE Raw results: Braun Strowman is on a path of destruction and The Shield reunion is a waste of time
Here are the five things we learnt from Monday night Raw after the epic pay-per-view No Mercy
NO MERCY was a huge show on Sunday night, but in WWE the action stops – and the superstars of Raw are already looking towards TLC on October 22.
Here are five things we learnt from Raw last night.
Braun Strowman is on a path of destruction
“The Monster Among Men” might have fallen to “The Beast” Brock Lesnar at No Mercy, but he wasted no time getting back to what he does best – beating people up.
Strowman answered Curt Hawkins’ open challenge – prompting Hawkins to leg it. But Strowman caught Hawkins and smashed him through the Raw set.
Braun then issued an open challenge of his own, which was answered by Dean Ambrose – because only a lunatic would take on Strowman, right?
Ambrose – still banged up from his tag match at No Mercy – put up a fight, but Braun pinned him clean after a monstrous power slam.
Braun made another appearance after Raw went gone off the air, destroying new Cruiserweight champ Enzo Amore – who’d already taken a beating from Neville.
Latest WWE news
Mickie James isn’t too old for a fight
Alex Bliss hit the ring to berate the fans for not celebrating her big victory at No Mercy – after beating four other women to retain her title.
Her former mentor Mickie James interrupted, confronting Alexa over comments she made about James being too old (she’s 38 – hardly retirement age).
Mickie hit the “Goddess” with hard slaps and a rear kick – in heels, no less – which knocked Alexa from the ring.
It looks like Mickie will keep Alexa busy until Asuka debuts at TLC.
The Shield reunion is coming… and it’s a waste
Roman Reigns – who defeated John Cena at No Mercy – battled The Miz after his Miz TV interview turned predictably sour.
Miz had berated Reigns for not showing him respect – and claimed The Shield would have been nobodies if The Miztourage had been around five years ago.
Roman defeated Miz with a spear but the Miztourage attacked the “Big Dog” and laid him out with a lengthy assault with steel chairs.
So the rumours are true. WWE is bringing back the Shield to face the Miztourage at TLC. Rollins and Ambrose are sure to join Reigns next week and even the score.
What a waste of resurrecting WWE’s most popular team in recent years.
We love the Miz, but the Shield reunion should be an earth-shattering WrestleMania moment – not against a jobber team at a “b-show” pay-per-view.
Finn Bálor v Bray Wyatt still isn’t over
Bálor beat Wyatt at SummerSlam – yet their interminable feud continued.
Then Bálor beat Wyatt at No Mercy – and somehow it still isn’t over.
Last night Bálor got a win over Goldust, then the lights went out and Wyatt’s trademark “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” played out.
It can mean only one thing. Yet another match between Bálor and heat-killer Wyatt at TLC.
What does Finn have to do to get rid of this useless oaf and move up the card to bigger and better things?
The Boss and Bayley are BFFs again – but for how long?
So there was tension between Sasha Banks and Bayley after coming to blows in the women’s Fatal Five-Way match at No Mercy.
Last night they agreed to put it behind them – it was every woman for herself, after all – and teamed up to defeat Nia Jax and Emma.
The end of the match teased that Nia Jax will come after the pair for revenge. But the real story is WWE teasing a falling out between The Boss and Bayley.
Our money’s on Banks turning heel on her supposed bestie somewhere down the line – something that should have happened at WrestleMania.
It might be a bit late, but can a heel Banks and the soon-to-debut Asuka save the Raw women’s division?
