West Ham lining up Quique Sanchez Flores as potential replacement for underachieving Slaven Bilic

The former Watford boss has hinted his interest in a return to English football as the Hammers continue to disappoint in the Premier League

WEST HAM are reportedly considering Quique Sanchez Flores as a potential replacement for Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers have lost four of their opening seven fixtures and are currently 15th in the Premier League table.

A number of managers have been linked with the London Stadium job, but Espanyol’s Quique Sanchez Flores will be strongly considered – according to .

The former Watford boss has indicated his intentions to return to English football when his current contract with RCD Espanyol expires – which is at the end of the season.

In his first season in charge of the Spanish outfit, Flores led them to a respectable eighth-placed finish in La Liga.

However, his club are under the cosh this season and are struggling to replicate their fine form of last term.

Espanyol have only collected eight points from their first seven La Liga outings.

Prior to this, Flores spent a year in charge of Watford before being succeeded by Walter Mazzarri in July 2016.

He won 36% of his games with the Hornets and led them to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Bilic is under ongoing pressure at the London Stadium and is expected to get until the end of the season to prove he is worth a new Hammers deal.

West Ham managed to clench a much-needed victory against the Swans on Saturday following a late strike from Diafra Sakho.

Next the Hammers will travel North to face in-form Burnley after the internationall break.

Carlo Ancelotti has also been heavily linked with the position after being axed in the wake of Bayern’s 3-0 Champions League defeat by PSG.

The former Chelsea boss has admitted in the past that he would seriously considering taking charge at the London Stadium.
