N’Golo Kante’s mascot is almost taller than him in France’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria
Chelsea midfielder not happy being embarrassed by mascot who is almost his height
ONLY part of the 5'7" Frenchman's head was visible as the camera panned through the French side ahead of their clash against Bulgaria.
While singing the national anthem, the tallest mascot was chosen to line up in front of the smallest player on the French team.
You wouldn't be able to tell if the Chelsea man was singing, as the young mascot's head obscured Kante's mouth.
His night didn't get any better after that, as he was subbed off with a hamstring injury in the first half.
The game against Bulgaria is a must win as Sweden put eight past Luxembourg earlier tonight.
That result left them two points behind top spot, needing three points to regain the lead for an automatic qualification place.
Les Bleus currently lead Bulgaria 1-0, thanks to a smart finish in the second minute from Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
But on 34 minutes, Kante hobbled off the pitch, clutching his hamstring, to be replaced by Adrien Rabiot.
Neither of the Frenchman's managers, Didier Deschamps or Antonio Conte will be too pleased at the prospect of their star man facing time on the sidelines.
France face their final World Cup qualifying game against Belarus on Tuesday night, Didier Deschamps will hope to secure their place in Russia next year.
