Lewis Hamilton celebrates winning Japanese Grand Prix with Mo Farah tribute
British stars have both tasted their fair share of success on the track and took time to appreciate each other's work
LEWIS HAMILTON paid tribute to fellow track star Mo Farah after winning the Japanese Grand Prix.
Farah was at Suzuka to watch the Mercedes ace extend his lead in the world title race to 59 points after Sebastian Vettel's retirement.
And Hamilton celebrated by striking the runner's famous pose before admitting he now held a dream position.
He said: "We have had such a great crowd this week you always look after us so well and the support was immense.
"I am grateful for that. The track was fantastic.
"The team did an incredible job. Max (Verstappen) had an outstanding race. It wasn't an easy one at all.
"I could only have dreamed of having this kind of gap. Ferrari have put on such a great challenge all season long.
"My team have done a great job. They are so meticulous and that is why we have the reliability we are having."
Hamilton can now wrap up the championship on a Texas track where he has won four times in five years.
There are 100 points left to play for, meaning the British speedster is set to join the German on four world titles.
