CARLOS TAKAM has been drafted in to face Anthony Joshua in Cardiff after the Brit's initial opponent Kubrat Pulev withdrew with injury.
According to Anthony Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, Takam was on standby as a replacement opponent as soon as the world champion's fight was announced.
And with less than two week's notice, Takam has stepped up after Pulev pulled out of the bout on October 28 due to a shoulder injury.
Who is Carlos Takam?
Carlos Takam is a 36-year-old French-Cameroonian professional boxer.
The boxer currently boasts a record of 35 wins, three defeats and one draw.
The heavy handed orthodox, who is 6ft 5in tall with a reach of 80.5in has won 27 of his via knockout.
Takam has been a professional boxer for 12 years and is very experienced in the ring.
Throughout his career Takam has boxed mostly in France and is now set for his first bout in UK against Joshua.
Before turning pro, he represented France in the Olympics in 2004 in the super-heavyweight division but lost in the round of 16.
Who has he previously faced?
He has previously knocked out Britain's Michael Sprott in five rounds in France in 2015.
In his last fight, Takam beat Marcin Rekowski for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental Heavyweight title in four rounds.
Last year he faced current WBO world champion Joseph Parker and lost to New Zealand star on points in Aukland, similarly how Hughie Fury recently lost to Parker in Manchester.
