FALL GUY

Mickey Gall slayed by Randy Brown on Michael Bisping vs GSP undercard after CM Punk and Sage Northcutt wins

UFC golden boy Mickey Gall got a rude awakening as he lost his 4-0 unbeaten record to Randy "Rude Boi" Brown.

The BJJ master had two huge scalps on his record with wins of WWE hero CM Punk and one-time prospect Sage Northcutt.

But he was totally dominated by Brown on the Michael Bisping vs GSP undercard and fell to a 29-28, 29-28, 29-27 points result.

Gall looked scared as soon as the bell rung, running away from Brown’s standing game until a couple of overhand rights steadied his nerves.

Brown entered the octagon at 9-2 and was showing off his muay thai early on with cruel knees to Gall’s body and head.

Brown – from a boxing background -  was expected to favour an upright contest but he took Gall down into half guard and then full.

Brown’s corner were begging their man to stand up and stick to striking as Gall looked to be creeping into an armbar or triangle.

But the New Yorker used his position to connect with evil elbows that slashed Gall’s head open in the final seconds of the first round.

Gall’s deluded corner told him he was doing great but Brown soon had him on the floor in the second until the roles were reversed for the first time in the fight.

In the final two minutes of the second round, Gall tried to fatigue Brown by lying on top and forcing him into aimless work, the legend killer even locked in a guillotine briefly but Brown wriggled free.

At the final break, Brown’s  corner told him it was one round apiece and the next five minutes would be career-defining.

And he took it on board by battering Gall to the canvas and splitting his head open again with a huge right hand.

In total, Gall received at least six verbal warnings from the referee and then got a guillotine but Brown slipped out before losing a controversial submission win.

Instead the judges awarded Brown the win his 12th professional performance deserved and provided Gall his first taste of defeat.
