Premier League tips: Ian Wright’s betting preview for Arsenal vs Tottenham, Manchester United vs Newcastle and Watford vs West Ham
- Harry Kane score first - 10/3
- Manchester United to win 3-0 - 11/2
- Richarlison to score first - 5/1
ENGLAND may have performed admirably in holding out for two 0-0 draws with Germany and Brazil with key players missing but the main question on everyone’s lips was – when is the Premier League back.
Well, the answer is this weekend, and it returns with a bang with the north London derby kicking things off in style.
Few people know better the intensity of that crunch clash that Arsenal legend IAN WRIGHT, and he offers his tops tips for that game and some other tasty ties.
Arsenal vs Tottenham betting preview – Harry Kane to score first, 10/3
This is the game I look forward to above any other as a viewer but I bloody hate talking about it before hand.
It’s always difficult as there is so much emotion and bragging rights resting on the result but it’s especially hard at the moment with Spurs in such fine form.
The Real Madrid result was a few weeks ago now but a result like that can give you confidence throughout the entire season and it has given them the blueprint for how to play on the counter in this big games.

It’s a huge game for both clubs but Tottenham are used to the big occasion now and while Mauricio Pochettino is yet to have beaten Arsene Wenger at the Emirates his side will fancy their chances.
There are a lot of things going in Spurs favour ahead of the game; Christian Eriksen played a blinder for Denmark midweek, while Harry Kane and Dele Alli are well rested, having not featured for England.
As such they will be bang up for it against an Arsenal side where you have to say you don’t even know how they’ll line up.
Will Wenger play Alex Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez together? And if not why not?
It’s a massive game and a chance for the Gunners to gain some confidence and momentum. They really need to have a go at Spurs so for me there’s no excuse for not putting all his big guns out there.
I think it’ll be close and I wouldn’t be surprised to see another draw so the 9/1 on the game ending 2-2 is a tempting pick.
However, I do think Spurs will take the lead in this one and if they are getting two goals you’d be a fool to overlook Kane, who has netted six in five in this fixture, to score first at 10/3.
Manchester United vs Newcastle betting preview – Man United to win 3-0, 11/2
I hear Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are back in training this week and while I don’t expect either of them to feature here that news in itself will provide a morale boost for a United side that has been battling through in their absence.
The Red Devils have lost just one of their last 32 league games against the Magpies and I’m afraid this one is a forgone conclusion.
You feel the way Marcus Rashford is playing and the fact this seems a game that is set up for Romelu Lukaku to dominate it could end up a very one-sided affair.

Newcastle open up very easily and have rode their luck at times this season so the hosts’ pace and pressure could break them down.
Lukaku’s goals stats are taking a hammering at the moment but I don’t think it’s a major concern. In the first few games of the season he showed that if you give him the chances he’ll put them away. It’s the chances that have dried up, not his ability to stick the ball in the net.
I’d like to see him play through the middle and stay there this weekend. If he does that I can see him getting a hat-trick. I’m going to go with a 3-0 win for United at 9/1 and Lukaku as the man to get the ball rolling at a top price 12/5 with Sun Bets.
Watford vs West Ham betting preview – Richarlison to score first, 5/1
David Moyes gets his West Ham career up and running this weekend and he has come up against a tough test in Watford.
The Hornets lost 3-2 last time out but deserved more from that game and on current form would have expected to beat Everton.
The Hammers have struggled all season and the lift most sides get when a new a manager is appointed has be almost non-existent at the London Stadium.
Moyes may have one eye on the January transfer window but I don’t think he has the luxury of waiting that long. If he is to turn things around in east London he needs results straight away.
Fortunately for him he’s already got plenty of decent players at his disposal. He has defenders who are experienced at this level, midfielders who can get stuck in, create and score goals and he’s got a few decent strikers.
What they need is organising and West Ham’s owners will be looking to see the former Everton, Man United and Sunderland boss instil some tactical discipline.
Javier Hernandez will be key to the Irons getting out of their current predicament and it just shows that football is, as the cliché states, a funny old game.
Moyes clearly didn’t fancy the Mexican at United but he has to play the situation very carefully now to get Chicharito on-side, wanting to play for him and firing on all cylinders.
Get the ball to him in the box and he will get you the goals to keep you up and have you moving up the table. No question.
Unfortunately I think Hernandez is a major doubt for this weekend and I think there is still a lot of work to be done for Moyes.
I think a back to basics approach will see West Ham on the scoresheet but Watford, who are settled and have a manager in popular demand, will win this one for me.
I think the 20/1 on a 3-2 win for Marco Silva’s side represents great value and in Chicharito’s absence Richarlison would be my pick to score first at 5/1, a huge price when you consider only Harry Kane has attempted more shots in the Premier League this season.
