McGregor has professed his support for the Glasgow club and paid tribute to them on social media in August when Celtic fans held up a banner with one of his famous quotes.

In October, he sang a Celtic song at an event in the Scottish city and had a drink thrown over him.

With his latest snaps shared on Instagram, Hoops full-back Kieran Tierney commented: “Nice shirt my man! Hero.”

The official Celtic account commented: "Hail, Hail @notoriousmma!"

McGregor looks determined as he prepares for his return to the octagon but reports have suggested he will be stripped of his UFC lightweight title tomorrow.

The 29-year-old has not fought in the UFC since November 2017, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez in New York to land the lightweight strap.

TIME'S UP UFC to strip Conor McGregor of lightweight title on Saturday allowing Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight for it

Podcast host and UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes he should be stripped to allow other contenders an opportunity.

He said: "When you’re a professional athlete, time is your enemy. And we can’t go on forever and not give guys the opportunity.
