Wolves teen sensation Morgan Gibbs-White snubs Liverpool after agreeing new Molineux deal
The England Under-17 ace signed a new contract on his 18th birthday despite interest from Jurgen Klopp
WOLVES have agreed a new deal for World Cup-winner Morgan Gibbs-White.
The England Under-17 midfielder was chased by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp but has been handed a fresh pro contract on his 18th birthday.
The Championship leaders have fought off competition from the Prem big boys to secure the youngster, who was crowned a world champ in India this season.
His progress at Molineux has sparked interest from Tottenham and Arsenal too, with clubs expecting him to make the step up to the Premier League.
Gibbs-White’s previous contract expired at the end of next season, in 2019, but his long-term future is now sorted.
He made his debut in January against Stoke in the League Cup and has also played in the Championship.
Most of Gibbs-White’s team-mates from the U17s were based at the top clubs – and he looked likely to join them until the deal was sorted.
The youngster impressed on the international stage as he helped England win the 2017 U17 World Cup.
